I have no clue why Detroit is so heavily favorerd.

game be careful with that over in the marlins game.   Dodgers are sitting some regulars,  furcal/martin out, ausmus/castro in (Huge dropoffs there), also blake might sit also.  That means the dodgers will have quite a few leftys in and weak rightys vs the southpaw.  I got this one pegged at 8.91 runs.

Hey Game, just wanted to drop into your thread and say nice job!  I've been checking in on your picks for the last 2 seasons and I do have to admit I'm a little jealous. 
 
I'm putting the jealousy aside and I just wanted to see if you could enlighten me on what you look at when handicapping a matchup.  If you already posted this somewhere then let me know where I can find it.  I obviously don't expect a detailed explaination on exactly how you come about your picks, but just wanted to see if there were any stat lines that you feel are important to look at when you go through a matchup.  I mainly look at a combination of the following stats:
 
OBP, Starter OBA, Bullpen OBA, AVG w/RISP, Starter BAA, Bullpen BAA, Starter and Bullpen WHIP.
 
I understand there is historical data, trends, lineups etc. but I just wanted to talk stats for the moment.  So basically, if you have the time are there any other stat lines that you feel are important to look at when you cap a game and/or am I wasting my time with any of the above stats in my handicapping?

Game, total dropped to 7 in San Diego where at the end of 16, they were talking about using position players to pitch, and pitchers to field due to the taxation of their bullies.

Any thoughts on this total?

whats up GH best of luck today I'm on pretty much the same plays as you....I'm surprised to see you not on Cincy to avoid the sweep with the nice ++money even though Peavy is going.  Any specific reason for the no play? Any advice would be appreciated.

I was hoping for a F5 play on under 4 runs and didn't find it....the obvious thought is under but I am not sure there is a ton of value in it...I certainly don't want to be on the OVER.

The Reds looked lethargic for 8 or so innings last night...I think they had 1 hit in the last 9 innings against some thrid rate pitchers particularly in the last 6 innings...I am almost certain Votto will miss today and without Votto they are still far from 100% with no Encarnacion...I think Peavy is a tough matchup for them and Arroyo has been so inconsistent. I can see your thought on the value here but too risky for me.
