MLB - Sunday 5/17

A lot nonsense in this thread today. If you don't like the thread, my advice is, then don't read it or post in it. There are alot of people that seem to enjoy the thread and it is productive to the site and helpful to some bettors that admit they don't have the time to thoroghly research games or admit they aren't that good at it.

I am not being paid by anyone here and really don't need to justify anything. However, I find it funny some of these idiots in this thread today.

Some of these idiots act like I got on a hot roll for a month or so. I give no guarantees or assurances about anything however, I have taken the time to lay out many baseball betting fundamentals, strategies that work along with strict money management. I can lose just like anyone else. However, I also feel I read more about baseball, understand statistics and matchup dynamics more than 99% of baseball handicappers and have a better feel for the game and handicapping it than just about the entire public. I used to give detailed writeups and statistics on a regular basis but it is too time consuming yet for the peopel who are here on a regualr basis, they can vouch for the fact that I often take the time to answer as many questions as possible which includes the reasons and stats that support why I played a game.

I can't imagine that it is just a coincidence that three years ago I won +140 units (and for the record that was when I was posting using a dime line), last year I won +70 units in the regular season (I did lose some back in the playoffs) and now am up close to +50 units this season and prior to being at Covers, I haven't had a losing baseball season in 9 years, but you don't have to believe that because I wasn't posting or aware of these types of sites prior to three years ago.

What a schmuck this guy is about following line movements. I am not patting myself on the back when I say this, but I can assure you that 80% of the games I play will signinfcantly move when I play them. There are reasons and I can assure you if you look at the games when I post them and about 30-60 minutes later, you will see that at least 4 out of 5 have significantly moved after I post them. Some may bounce back a little but there are reasons that they move and that's before some of the good people here who like to follow me log onto Matchbook or Pinnalce and play some of their money on the same sides.

Heck, just today, Florida, Houston and Oakland moved 15-25 cents after I posted them.

I am not a tout service. I am not getting paid to make people money and as such I do not have to assure anyone that they can get the same lines as me. I post what I play and it seems many people appreicate it. if you are not one of them, then don't read my thread.

Having said all of that, I do not guarantee anyone that I will have a winning season this year. I am off to a good start and feel I know what I am doing. I have suffered a ton of bad luck so far (which definitely has not been balanced by good luck) and am still close to +50 units so I feel fortunate. No disprespect to BillyC above as his post is in no way offensive but he could be right. I could go breakeven the rest of the seaosn and I will still be ahead a ton of moneya nd I could lose for the rest of the season. This is gambling and there are no guarantees.

Just bet with your head and not over it!

Good luck to everyone and I appreciate the good thoughts and if you don't like me, or my thread, then stay out. Nobody is asking you to stop in. Covers exists so we can all help one another and that's all most of us in my thread are trying to do.

I am actually more upset that I typed "alot" as one word in my post above than I am about the pathetic comments in this thread today.

Thanks...I have used Thons before so not sure if I will revisit that one yet.....maybe some Wynns (as in the Toy Cannon) on the horizon.

I feel you....the one thing that has helped me the most is that I don't sweat out every play...sure, on occasion, I do like last night's 16 inning debacle with the Reds as it was on late when I was in bed long after everyone was sleeping but it helps me to be a lot more disciplined when i dont' sweat out each game and it avoids me going on TILT.

I DVR about 20 minutes from as many games as possible so I can watch many pitcher's in their first few innings to evaluate their stuff and often go back and fast forward to each pitch and can get a feel for how they were.....but my days of being an action junkie are 20 years past and it took me many years to get that out of my system which led me to being a profitable gambler.

Agree with all but one point...people are always welcome to come into my thread and tell me why they disagree with a pick if they support it with logic and reasoning for us all to learn from....it causes productive debate and can actually help us all moving forward to understand both sides of the coin.

Let's see if any of my games move tomorrow morning....if you are a regular here, many of you have an idea of how I look at games and the two matchups tomorrow where the starting pitchers both have the same first initial of their last names I find intriguing.

GH, just ignore the other shit and keep capping, It's no secret you're one of the most successful/respected cappers here. You're up 50 units and it's still May and  that's no small feat. GL the rest of the way.

For the record, neither is an official play...just looking closely at them.

Same shit, different year GH. There have been a lot of very strange, inexplicable losses recently. Not much you can do about that.
It is enough to really piss a person off though.

 

yeah i dont usually sweat out games either,, ill leave that to the 21 year olds .  but i got injured playing some ball yesterday, so walking around today was out of the question .  and going on tilt easily happens when you watch all the games ..  as you already have set units allocated per game . and if you dont watch the games, you wont deviate from it, and basically not double down on the sunday night game , or game 7 of an nba playoff game . thats when you can get buried..

Though poignant, I don't know why you even feel the need to explain any of that AGAIN ... by this point, if folks don't already know you and your personal integrity and moral fabric, let alone handicapping prowess, who really gives a damn what they say or think ... please use your time more wisely in future, and don't waste it on the douchebags who just want a piece of the champ

In the future, just give the simple response of "05/17- #79" to any haters. You do a very good job man...nobody's perfect, but you're pretty damn close with an inexact science like this.
