Joe D I think you are exaggerating only slightly, but otherwise I really think your point is valid - as I stated above - I think Game picks spots that suit his system. Its just that nobody complains when his system is yielding profits from the grind.
I see this in hockey every season, its hard to pick dogs once the all-star game and trade deadline have passed and the signal has been clearly sent about who are buyers and who are sellers!!! The whole motivational system changes even more in hockey which I call an "effort" sport - baseball can be played fairly well at low intensity but hockey cannot so the differences are even more marked.

It's true, you have to battle through your losing streaks. Just play less games and for smaller amounts. You adjust your strategy b/c nothing works 100% of the time. When hot, you be more aggressive with your plays. If you take too long of a break while losing, when you return, your mentality is still that you've been losing and it can continue. All things turnaround in time.
As for GH, he should do what fits best for his playing style. If it's taking a few days to get clear, then that's cool. Also, no one here knows if he's still playing and just not posting.

Seeing as how tomorrow is covers radio day I suppose GH has a decision to make about that and posting for the rest of this season... perhaps he has hung it up the year? He said a few days but shutting it down prior to college football may be his choice under the circumstances... people will find out tomorrow either way

I wouldnt doubt if hes still betting and just not posting right now....esp after the abuse he took from a few idiots in here the past few weeks.....so if thats the case, I doubt blame him, not one bit! Those jerks need to remember, even if he loses everyday....hes posting this for FREE!!!! GL GH!

Here are touts selling a "service" and they are interviewing a guy who gives out a better service- for free. And I dont remember any specific time period where the touts were killing the books. Probably just barely breaking even when you take into account that you pay to break even. I mean at the end of the show, was anybody saying, "Wow, Gamehunter is really good, but I really need to go pay for picks."

Agree 100% As for GH being a good guy for sure. He is so down to earth and seemingly and humble I can picture him walking the halls of a monestary at times with a long saffron robe! He is a great guy, obviously, but he's also a proud guy who probably derives a lot of satisfaction out of making people money with his sharp picks - so - I'm sure he has had no fun at all posting and losing for the last month plus - he is patient, and he has excellent money management skills that bail him out, but that streak would test anyone's patience guys.

Look no further than the radio show. GH has been granted access to that show not only for his prowess as a handicapper but for his popularity with the many inhabitants of this forum. His tremendous amount of hits and very large following have without a doubt opened some doors for GH and quite possibly motivated him to continue to hone his unique skill set right here at covers.com
The point I am making here is that in a handicapping community like this the leaders and the followers both have agendas and they may indeed be mutually beneficial.
It could be argued, without knowing what the future holds, that one day a guy like GH may admit that he owes this forum a great deal.
GH - Keep up the much appreciated hard work, looking forward to your return.

However, I really must disagree with your assertion that he owes us something. After watching GH post (for this season only) I understand you point of view insofar as he benefits from any positive exchanges of information. But GH tells us he has done this for around 10 seasons and never had a losing season, yet this is his 3rd season posting on covers and he is showing steady declines from 140 to 70 to 30 units YTD. This does not constitute evidence of any great "assistance" from the forum in my view, rather, the wearing effects of bashing and such that goes on in here. Forget about coversradio, I did that show last spring for the NHL playoffs and its actually pretty easy and I think Game enjoys the spotlight it brings since he is good at what he does. Its the crap that goes on in the thread that underpins my point that GH owes this place nothing. If the site did a better job of keeping his thread clean I would be more inclined to agree with you. As it stands, how can he be said to get much out of this experience???? He has made it clear he is not going tout so the noteriety he receives is purely incidental - and the man has a career which pays him well in any case. He doesn't need this place.
