we knew the Dodgers struggled with left handed pitching, but the Cubs have only
one lefty starter and Lester came away with a win, as he should have. What we
did not know was that the Cubs would find their Achilles heel versus lefties.
They performed well versus Bumgarner, but did not get the win, then performed
badly versus Moore but lucked out with a big ninth inning versus the Giants
bullpen. Kershaw and Hill shut them down
completely. In the four outings the Cubs have batted 26 innings versus lefty
starters and come away with 13 hits, 4 earned runs, 6 BB and 26 K’s, for an
offensive earned run average of 1.39, a whip of .731 and K/BB ratio of 4.33 to
1. If I eliminate Bumgarner, the first of the four, and arguably one of the
best, it gets even worse, so why go there?
The Dodgers have
faced 6 right handed starters in the playoffs, scoring 16 earned runs in 29
innings for an oera of 4.97, whip 1.07 and K/BB ratio of 2.36 to 1. Who is your
favorite?

Key, I admire your work. Always impartial, even when it is so easy to root for a team. Your analysis is always on point, win or lose, your plays feel like the right plays time and time again.

Win, lose or draw all we can attempt to do is play the right side, probability versus odds. Thank you.

Am I the only one on the under ? oh well that's what my numbers say. Good Luck to All, ff.
My computer agrees with you and I have no objection to Hernandez behind the plate or the weather, but the computer number is close and I think this game has explosive potential (by that I mean 8, not one of the 12-11 blowups some guys imagine). BOL
