Hey bud, curious your thoughts on Yankees game today?
Yankees 2-2 as home underdogs this year.
L on 4/23. Schmidt versus Gausman
W on 5/3. Schmidt versus Bieber
W on 5/13. Cortes versus McClanahan
L on 5/14. Schmidt versus Eflin
its hilarious 3 of the 4 times they’ve been home underdogs it’s been Schmidt pitching. And 3 of the 4 instances, it’s against the opposing team’s ace pitcher.
Today it’s Musgrove whom hasn’t been their ace this year thus far (1-2 with 6era) against a Triple A call up (due to German getting suspended). Lots of respect Vegas is giving the 23-27 Padres today….

I’ve been out running around, I’ll look at it in a bit and respond to ya.
musgrove hasn’t been stellar this year since that Sunday he pitched against the dodgers. A great website that lists matchups is statfox.com click mlb and the matchups - great info. Regarding Yanks starter , I find triple A data is not a good indicator of a first time starter, however, looking at spring numbers and look at strikeouts and I.p and hits helps - your trying to see if he has low hits and more strikeouts than I. P.
I’ll come back with my exact thoughts once I get home. Waiting for wifey went in for one item, sure she is picking up several:)
hope all is well with you.

Deservedly so, Schmidt sux. Lost 2 of the 3.

Vasquez FS (first time starter) During the spring he pitched 7 I.p gave up 10 hits, 4 runs and 4 walks, 2 HRs.
The line opened at 125 currently - 108 . I give Musgrove a rating of 126 - that's not stellar. With this being Vasq. first start and during the spring he had an equal amount of s/o to I.p that doesn't excite me. He gave up 10 hits. I have one identical rating where it's 126-Fs, however, the home team was favored 245 - that's not the case here. As you can see from my Cubs pick - an identical rating doesn't always give you the same result (your looking for substantial data - similar or identical) . In this case I don't have a play. My lean would be to take the Over and the Yanks.
BOL to ya.
@KeyElement
If you lined up all the pitchers in the AL there are 37 pitchers who have at least pitched 50 innings or more and Schmidt ranks 36 (2nd to last) - Manoah's 37(last). Based on that criteria he sucks. However, he does have one thing going for him - he's one of 18 of those pitchers who have more strikeouts than I.p - which isn't an indicator he will win his next start, however, based on the right match up there's hope. That's why you gotta love baseball.
