I am grabbing these three early because I believe lines will move against us. Full update in the morning but we are looking good on the Royals at 7-2 and of course the Rockies-Dodgers has not gone off. I will add the write ups on these yet tonight if possible. BOL

Mariners: Simply
put, Stults is one of the three worst pitchers in MLB. The guy does not belong
in the major leagues and I can only figure the Padres have no money and no
starter of decent quality in the minors or this guy would be drawing his salary
for riding the pine. He is 1-13 in h2h competition and 0-14 for quality starts,
which means the only way he got a h2h win is the other guy had an even more
pathetic day than he did. I don’t really care what anyone thinks of Elias and
the Mariners but they are a very serious club that would never send out a guy
that gives them a roughly 4% chance of winning.
Cubs: Samardzija must be
counting the days to free agency and keeping his bags packed and fingers
crossed for a deadline trade that will get him away from a club that won’t be
rebuilt in his lifetime. Turner on the other hand is like Stults, a guy that is
lucky to have a major league job. At 0-9 h2h and 1-8 for quality starts he
gives you very little chance of winning and that gets worse when you consider
the Marlins offense has disappeared and they are only scoring 2.7 earned runs per
9 versus the last 15 righties they have faced. Coupled with a 3-12 quality
performance record versus those guys they are not likely to do much against
Jeff (tired of spelling that last name).
Rangers: Drew Pomeranz is
having a great season for the A’s but the Rangers tagged him for his worst
performance of the year last night and he is a better lefty than Tommy Milone.
The Rangers have been rough on lefties anyway at 8-7 in quality performances
their last 15 with 6.1 earned runs per 9 being posted to their account. Darvish
may not look like his old self in the W-L column but those troubles have been
mostly a lack of run support as he is 11-2 in quality starts. Theoretically, on
any given day the A’s can hit anybody, but pitting their offense versus Darvish
against the Rangers offense versus Milone is no contest.

"Still any interest in the Cubs w/ the pitching change?" Cubs,
FG, -111 (Samardzija / DeSclafani) Yes, this line is still over valuing the Marlins offense versus Samardzija.

All the trends and angles in the world are for people that think those are handicapping tools. I don't give a hoot what they are.
The Over looks OK at 7 but does not get my heart going pitty-pat. Darvish is shutout capable and Milone has his moments. One or the other may have to get there alone and that is not promising. Last night in L.A. I wound up with a push because and easy run scoring double bounced over the fence and a runner was sent back to third. With the average game score at 8 this year, 7 is a tall order in that tomb the A's call home. Just the acres and acres of foul territory get a lot of guys out on foul pop ups.

i would just like to point out the mariners employ somebody just as bad as Stults, if not worse. His name is Erasmo Ramirez and he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn if you called it the strike zone.

one, that's not true... close, but not 100% true as he has won a game vs. Oakland in 2012.
two, it's not like Darvish will never pick up a win in a game vs. the A's. plus, the Rangers won his start at Oakland earlier this season.
three, it's not like the price is -160. this is a guy who is capable of shutting a team out on any given night. there is almost always value on him at near even money unless he is hurt.
personally, I like the F5 wager on the Rangers more than the FG. if Millone keeps it close I trust the A's bullpen far more than the Rangers' bullpen.

Not true. As bad as Ramirez is, he is better than Stults, Stults at 1-13 h2h and 0-14 qs is way behind Ramirez 3-6 and 4-5. Besides, I am not playing on Ramirez so even if it were true it would be irrelevant.
