Astros: Play to -130: What Kazmir does for the Astros is almost too hard to comprehend. If they have the good sense to keep Velasquez in the rotation instead of the bullpen, the Astros have a premier starting staff that can contend NOW, not maybe later or maybe next year. I think they get off to a good start with him and it is already way passed the time when the Royals stop getting lucky with Guthrie on the hill.
Braves: Play to +140: What in the world qualifies Cooney and the Cardinals to lay up to -185 at some spots? They can’t hit lefties and although I complimented him on his showing against the Mets, it was Cooney’s best day in the major leagues to date and should not be given more credit than it is worth. Even at the -182 I played against, how can you figure this combination (Cooney, Cards offense vs lefty) has a win probability of 64.9%?

As much as this is a tryout of sorts for kazmir with the astros (contract is up end of season). I think the astros players and team want to impress Kaz so he will resign next season. LOVE THE PLAY

Regarding the Atl play... Your write up makes no mention of the huge bullpen discrepancy here. Totally understand your reasoning on the play based on a way over-inflated line against a lefty who's been solid so far but Banuelos doesn't go deep into games and has never even made it past the 6th inning of a game yet. Essentially the 2nd half of this game should be a battle of the bullpens and you're betting on a bottom 5 pen to hold the game down against the best team in league who also has the 2nd best pen and who is also playing on their home field where they have shown to be pretty clutch. Why not play the game as a FF?

I would not get too focused on Atlanta's terrible bullpen as the majority of those guys aren't currently with the team. Since adding Frasor and Detwiller the BP has looked better. Don't focus on season stats with BP. It's misleading on what the current state is with the Pen.

Been collecting on the Astros the last two nights. Going with the Royals at home tonight . 32-17 at home. Kasmir brings back memories of his short stay in Cleveland.

My friend, since leaving the armpit on the Erie Kazmir has been what he was meant to be. Do you still hold the same opinion of Max Scherzer you held when he was in Arizona?

I think there is more value in Braves RL at -130 considering Cards have had 36 1 run games and Bravo's 32 1 run games this year, agree though Clooney doesn't warrant this price, probably books fishing for Square play with St Louis. GL on your play.
