I just think he is terrible at the plate and the manager felt with the a's shitty O that was a chance he had to take.  The a's pen is decent enough.....I still think it was dumb though

In a 1-1 game, if you get the lead runner on in an inning you better be thinking sacrifice plays the whole way through.  Should have bunted coco over with no outs.  Then at the very least they would have had two outs worth without a force play and a fast runner in scoring position.

agreed.....the teams need to start fining the players and managers for stupidity and incompetence when they don't move runners and the batter fails to get a bunt down.....all these fucks take huge cuts with 2 strikes.....should shorten up and just make contact....blows my mind

Baseball is a formulaic game.  Managers and players need to stop messing around and just stick to what works.  In a volume sport like Baseball, you have to pay strict attention to the statistics in order to maximize your probability to produce runs.  Unlike other sports with shorter seasons, in Baseball maximizing your probability for success makes a difference in you W-L record over time.
