Nobody's picking Reds to make it past 1st round... I LOVE it... watch out for their starting pitching man... they got some GREAT young talent coming up
Leake, Maloney, Volquez, Wood, Bailey, add in veteran Arroyo
hopefully they Trade Harrang-a-tang.. he SUCKS!

The Cards' rotation is just better. And Holliday/Pujols haven't even heated up yet. Agree that they need to get Harang out of the rotation...but when you have to rely on so many young guys...that is not the key to success.

Very tough. Is Burnett's recent outings just smoke and mirrors because of who he has faced...or has his changeup really made him a better pitcher? 50/50 imo.

EUROPA__ Baseball plays through long season, a good team like Red Sox could have a 20-5 winning streak in September and take over #1 position after the injured players coming back healthy. That's an educated guess.
I'M not here too argue, however some points must be made. baseball is a very long season(thats why the redsoxs can't possibly go 20-5 in SEPT. ALSO,they play in October and have 30 games left. thats education Sir.
secondly, by you stating that the redsoxs can go 20-5 , I don't disagree or 25-5 . that would mean the yanks would have to go something like 15-15 in sept/oct. also the yanks/soxs play 10 more times ( can the redsoxs win 7 out of those 10? I doubt it-but good luck the 2nd half.
The 2nd half will be great to watch in the al east/al central/nl east/ nl west/nl central

Guess i shouldn't argue with a Yankee homer that Red Sox can't possible go 20-5 in Sept. or Yankees will go 15-15 in September/October, that would be a uneducated guess.
i am no Red Sox fan, but i still think this is a very good baseball team which could go 20-5 in late August/September.Yankees could win AL East so could the Red Sox.

Yankees v Cardinals...........
The NL is wide open, anybody can contend for those divisions......the Al is wide open in the central and a two man race in the west........I think the strong team in the AL is the Yankees...the central will come down to anybody, the west is tough to say that a pitcher will change things in the hitters park in Texas...........
For some reason I am sure 1 or 2 of the division leaders will drop off......there are alot of competitors in that league...

Man u guys who continue to write off the Phillies at this point of the season year after year are gonna be disappointed once again. This team was without half of their lineup on and off for a better part of the first half and still sitting at 7 games over. How can you guys justify putting th Braves on top???? Injuries will hit them and when the starting pitching starts to wear down they will crumble. They are most definitely improved greatly this season but their hitting is suspect at best and when the Phils get healthy get ready for a huge second half run as they do every year.
My picks well who really cares about either Central division NL WEST ROCKIES
NL EAST PHILS
THAT WOULD ALSO BE MY PICK FOR THE NLDS AND ITS ALL YANKS IN THE AL SAVE THE INK
YANKS VS PHILS AGAIN AND ANOTHER YANKEE OCTOBER AS HALLAAY STRUGGLES VS THE YANKS WILL COST THE PHILS

Can you blame him for being confident in his favorite team, which just so happens to be the Defending World Series Champions and the team who currently has the best record in baseball?

I don't get it. You talk about timdogs as if he's just a homer while you are basically laughing at those who chose the Braves over YOUR home team Phillies. Sounds a bit like hypocrisy if you ask me.
How do you know they'll get hurt?
How do you know the pitching will wear down?
The Braves started off the first month of the season with the worst offense in baseball, losing Jurrjens and having the terrible Kawakami fill his spot for quite some time. They lost McLouth (who they went into the season expecting him to be their starting CF). They've had surprise seasons from Prado, Infante, Hinske and Glaus. On top of that...they had to deal with awfully slow starts from McCann and Jones while Melky is being forced into going out there every day and has done absolutely nothing but be a nice defensive addition to this club. And finally...Heyward was dealing with a thumb injury most of June that took him forever to go on the DL which is what should have happened when he was struggling since he wasn't helping this team at all during this time.
So...while the Phillies have had their share of problems...so have the Braves.
