I already put $2,000 on it but thinking I may put more. Any opinions to talk me off?
My Reasons:
They won 77 games last year but now don't have David Price (11 wins in 2/3 of season). Also no Joe Madden?!?!?!? This teams give the feeling of one that is going into rebuild mode. I have read some things talking about how management it upset with the fan turnout during even their really good years. Are they planning on just cutting back a bunch on payroll? It feels that way.
Also the AL East should be pretty good this year. Yanks will be improved IMO as well as the Red Sox. Jays should be around .500 and the Orioles are a really good team. Seems like TB will be worst in the East and Red Sox took that place last year and only won 71 games.
Rays 72-75 games max I think.

I have a local. Does anyone know what the season win totals are typically at most sportsbooks?
I agree with your analysis on the Rays. They lost a ton of talent and are in a very competitive division. Check out the website seasonwintotal.com. It gives you the win total lines for all the sportsbooks and tells you what place has the best win total number for each team.

This comes down to where you think they end up in the AL East, the last place team hasn't had over 78 wins in the last 10 seasons, while the 2nd last team has gone over 78, 5 of the the last 10.
I don't think they go over 78 because of one reason, Joe Madden. Arguably the best manager in baseball that took a mediocre team last year and had a decent year, they are worst than last year and lost the two most valuable pieces of their team (Madden and Price)
I think they come last in the AL East, but it comes down to how the Orioles and Yanks bounce back, I expect the Jays to be mediocre again and the Sox to win the division.

78.5 at my book and I still like it.

1. I think we're overrating Maddon's loss. I thought he phoned it in and personally i consider Maddon to be overrated as a manager. Ditto with Friedman leaving
2. You hear Price is gone and he is but its not like TB is running out of pitching. here's theie projected 5 in any order you want
Cobb,Archer,Smyly,Odorizzi and Moore back in June not too shabby
3. People say well TB can't hit. they never hit so what does it matter and i still like Tampa's pitching
As for the division. The Yankees are old, overpaid. Maybe CC comes back but Beltran,Mccann were down,Teixeira is always hurt. The Red Sox signed Hanley and the fat man but have 5 #3 starters at best. The O'slost a ton of power with Cruz and a leader in Markakis
Love what Toronto did getting martin and Donaldson but are they gonna throw 200 innings? Its hard for me to take a team seriously that has Buehrle and Dickey in the top 3of a rotation
That's my logic. I've been right a bunch and wrong a bunch. Hell 80-82 may win the East! More likely 85-86 wins but this division to me is 5 bowls of crap. the only difference is the smell
