Now that everyone in here has made it clear that Bonds homerun ball should be stamped with an ASTERIK.... I think it is time we begin talking about some other things that should be stamped.
Every one of Roger Clemens Cy youngs, every record Clemens holds.
Every world series Pettite/Clemens have ever won.
Tejada's MVP
None of them should be allowed in the hall of fame. None of them should get any respect from anyone.
Jose Canseco was denied entry to the Mitchell press conference because the MLB is scared shitless that he will release the truth about everyone. Canseco "I can't believe Alex Rodriguez was not named in the Mitchell Report" although Canseco says he has plenty on that subject for his new book. Can't wait until the rest of the players are exposed, and everyone can shut up about Barry Bonds.

It's amazing how many people are so ready to move on now, no one wants to know nothing about if Clemens is guilty, but when it was Bonds, it was total uproar that his achievements have an asterik. It's amazing why it's so hard for the public to believe that just more than Bonds juiced. Isn't it also interesting how Bonds trainer would be so credible if he testified against him, but Clemens ex trainer would not be credible?

Who cares about it anymore...I think the guys that failed the test and got caught are idiots...The ones that got snitched on had no choice...and the rest of the 55% MLB players who are on HGH which has no test have no reason to stop.. MLB looked the other way when the Bash bros started hitting home runs and the ballyards were getting full. Now this is baseball 2008....

The only guy is just figure of speech, I'm talking about the majority of the public, people are quick to defend Clemens and other players that they don't even know. Just because someone comes across a certain way doesn't mean they aren't capable of taking steriods. But isn't it all so much of a coincidence, McGuire breaks the record and it's all good, he retires and Sosa and Bonds put on their assault then we have a steroid problem. Bonds gets busted for juice and lets put an asterik by his HR's. Clemens get busted and we're tired of it lets move on. If Anderson testifies he's a great witness, but if Clemens trainer says something he's not credible. That's odd, but that's how it continue to go.

I mean this is a baseball forum, what else is there to talk about, and one day after hearing about Clemens, people are talking about give it a rest. We had to hear over 2 years about Bonds compared to 1 day of Clemens, that's balanced.

I'm really not trying to make it a race issue, it's a steriod issue, and the are athletes not saints, and every single player is capable of juicing if you ask me, I wish people would stop worrying about whose name might have gotten slandered, cause either they were juicing or too close to someone juicing. I totally believe Brian Roberts tried for how long I have no clue, and I believe Justice purchased some HGH. I'm an ex-player myself 10 years in the minors and a cup of coffee in the bigs, and I know numerous players that were on it, and if I know that, then I would assume a strengthening training that's distrubuting has great knowledge of who's on it. I've just been hearing too many people talking about Clemens should defend himself. He's was domnating at 43, and 100 out of 100 people should be saying he's guilty, just as guilty as Bonds. Peter Gammons makes me sick and analyst talkig about there was no need for this report, yes there was, cause the average fan was very nieve to how wide spread it was. Just as there's alot of people that assume that if you're not in the Mitchell report then you're clean. That's garbage, cause the Mitchell report is comprised from 3 sources. I don't care for Bonds at al, but right is right and wrong is wrong, and if they wanna expose him, then I think it's only fair to expose baseball cause he wasn't close to being the only player juicing. And personally I don't consider juicing cheating in baseball, and here's why. Hank Aaron never lifted a weight in his life, so that means when players started working out they had an advantage over players such as Hank and the Babe, and that advantage is just as significant as someone that juices has over someone that is natural. Juicin makes you stronger, big deal. Not that it should be legal, because it's the wrong message to send to our kids, but Will Smith juiced for his movie Ali, that wasn't a problem. But I apologize if I came across making this into a race issue to anyone that took it that way.

its illegal though. plus they have so much stuff nowadays that is as close to a steroid as you can get but is sold over the counter i dont see why guys would risk getting caught for cheating.
good point as to how narrow the scope of the report actually was...3 sources? i mean if you were from teams asociated with those sources and werent named i think you are pretty much innocent but guys that had no ties to those sources , to me, still seem shady...bagwell, brian jordan, ivan rodriguez ...
in the grand scheme of things the fact people get so annoyed that guys cheat so they can play baseball better seems pretty silly
and finally , i didnt mean that you specifically were trying to make it a race issue. it is in a lot of threads on here though. sorry if it came out the wrong way in that post

I could give 2 shits about the steroid talk. If MLB wanted it banned, than I could understand. It was not againist the rules, therefore, none of the players should be looked down against.
Ole George said it right, forget about the past, focus on the future.

NJ, yes it is illegal, and I believe that even the stuff that they have over the counter has ingriedients that would give them a positive test if I'm not mistaken. I'm one that never really cared if one used roids, but after watching and listening to Steve Finley in an interview, you grow even more respect for a guy like im that can play 19 years and be able to say he did it the right way, and after viewing that piece on him really changed my view on the users. But it is entertainment, and I believe alot of people wanna see these players do super natural things. It'll be very interesting to know how many will stay away from HGH for fear of being caught down the line.

Ty you are sticking up for a guy who is a complete moron and a jerk and thumbs his nose at people.... Dont give any of these guys respect or props..black/ white /latin who cares... they all have one thing in common....they are selfish, greedy arrogant cheaters who dont give a f__ about the fans.
I respect the guy who is trying to get a major league minimum contract to support a family more than the superstar who has to feed his ego

Dencol, Why do you say I'm sticking up for Bonds, I'm not sticking up for anyone. In my book I don't know any of them personally, and you're right majority are selfish, greedy, arrogant cheaters, which is not much different than most rich people. Take a ride down to Newport Beach. All I'm saying is expose them all or don't try and expose any. Especially when it know that it was wide spread. And as for the Hall of Fame voters they will no doubt be voting in players that juiced but didnt get caught. There are soo many players left off that list it was ridiculous, but you can't put anyone in the report if you don't have anything on them. But why wouldn't you give any of them props. They are no different than any other pro sports. Believe me if the other had no drug testing policy, they would all be juicing as well. I give them props, because regardless of taking roids or not, they are still the best players in the world, just as NBA, football, hockey, etc. What I don't give respect to is Golf. That's not a sport, and I know I'll get backlash about how difficult the game is. But so is holding your breath under water for 10 minutes, but that doesn't make it a sport. Golf is a Hobby.

That is one of the most ridiculous statements and everytime I hear someone mention it; it makes my blood boil.
IT IS ILLEGAL IN THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA!!!
Do you need rules at your job to tell you not to murder someone or sell heroin?? If it is ILLEGAL then it does not have to be stated in the rules that you cannot use them.

Well I for one wasnt one of the people who said there should be an asterisk (feel free to check my post history if you have the time). Theres no reason to put any type of asterisks on anything. We all know Ruth and Cobbs records came at a time when racism was prevalent in baseball, we all know about the deadball era etc. This is the Juiced ERA, everyone knows what happened during this time in baseball and everyone will be able to explain to their kids what went on so this is no different than any other major era in baseball. Absolutely no reason for asterisks, they just clutter the record books and make no sense because almost every record you can make an argument for an asterisk one way or another.
