I really don't know what to make of Masterson. When he got a chance to be a starter after coming to Cleveland...he either had a great game, or was lit up. He had 4 starts where he gave up 1 run or less, and he had 5 starts where he gave up 4 runs or more. He seemed more comfortable at home though as all his great outings were there, with the exception of 1 horrific game against the Tigers. Anywho...his final game last season was against the Chi.Sox and pitched a complete game and gave up 1 run but lost 1-0.
Now...Masterson was a bit erratic this Spring. That's not just something you can turn on an off when the regular season starts. And last season he did average 3.4 walks per game. And that will rarely translate into success in the Major. But seeing how his ERA was 6.66(6.67) on the road last season...and how bad his control has been...I think the Sox may get to him. But overall...Masterson is 0-1 in 5 appearances (2 starts) against the Sox with a 1.53 ERA.
As for Floyd...he wasn't great against the Indians last season. In 3 starts, although he was 2-1, he had a 4.19 ERA and gave up 9 runs in 19.1 innings. BUT...he had incredible numbers at U.S. Cellular. In 13 starts he only had a 2.47 ERA. Thats 25 runs given up in 91 innings. And he was 6-3 at that time. However...the Sox were 10-3 in this starts.
I may have just convinced myself to take the Chi.Sox, which would be my lean for this game. There are too many variables to figure out a lean for the total.

No doubt. I understand what you're saying. But that certainly wasn't the reasoning for making this play. There are other variables that lead me to believe that the Dodgers will win. I just threw that in there for additional purposes.

Well the info that you need is in my writeup. I think the Dodgers will put up about 5 runs in this game. Maybe even a bit more. I don't think they'll hit 9 though...and I also see Billingsley pitching a great game. See...he had a really bad end to last season and it "seems" as if he fixed those problems in Spring Training. If he can put 2009 behind him and start again from 2007-2008...this certainly will be a bad spot for the Pirates. Gun to my head...I'd take the over...but really no interest in it.

Good to hear. I just hope they handle the Rays the same in the upcomming series.

I feel the same way.. Manny without the roids is a different Manny.. all the guy does now is get outs, he can't hit for shit. Dodgers will be better today without him in the lineup.
Let's cash that Dodgers RL Sparky!

It's the fucking 3rd game of the season and Manny, Ethier and Martin are sitting? I can understand Manny and Martin...but come on Ethier. Seriously?
Reed Johnson will bat 2nd and take left field. That's good because he has good numbers against Maholm. Garrett Anderson, Brett Carroll and Ronnie Belliard are also in for Ethier, Dewitt and Blake. And of course Ausmus in for Martin.
I guess we'll have to make it work.

In all seriousness though...I have absolutely no clue what to expect from Robertson, making this game one that I can't cap. Gun to my head...over would be the play...but I really can't even break this one down. The only info I have was that it was my birthday and I was there for Niese's last regular season start. And that is about it.
Sorry I couldn't help anymore.

Orioles TT Over 4 -105
Risking 2.1 units to win 2 units
In 5 starts against the O's last season...Niemann had a 6.75 ERA in which he pitched 25.1 innings and gave up 19 runs. I'll take my chances with this one as I like the O's offense. 9.5 seems too high for the game so I'll stay away from that.
