WASHINGTON NATIONALS win wednesday June 10th

If the pitching matchup is harang vs MArtis

1) HARang is "name brand" pitcher well known and they are only -115 AT nationals  worst branded team in the league only 15 wins and lost what 13 of 15

2) Look closer and Harang struggles mightly vs. Righties 1.49 whip .314 BAA  and is average at best vs. lefties
   Washington has a boat load of right handed hitters and their lefties arent too shabby  nick johnson  (3 for 3 2 doubles and a big boy off of harang) and guzman always solid  and adam dun is always a potential game changer

3) Red just coming off an "OBVIOUS" win vs. the nationals last night with cueto on the mound so pub will be all over this name brand pitcher and team again today

4)  Martis is superior vs. righties   .82 whip   .172 BAA in 30 + inn
     Lefties REally murder him but Cincnatti only lefties are chris dickerson  *yawn*   bruce is .154 on the road this year and in the middle of a  1 for 30 slump last road games...  Lance Nix who is solid but hes NOT a game changer only 18 RBI on year....

All in all Nationals should win this game rather easily IMO

You make one heluva argument, so good in fact that I may just put the Nats on a parlay, even with thier pathetic win loss record this season.  GL

BOL But I'm on the otherside of that. Nationals suck period. People betting on the nationals have lost over 22 units this season. The Nats have only scored 21 runs in their past 7. No reason to back them until they show they can win games. Also the Nats got the worst pen in baseball. I'll take my little bit of chalk and back the Nats.

last 7 games they have faced    cueto, hernandez,  john maine, tim redding ( only weak one),  randy johnson, matt cain, tim lincecum

sooo can u blame them for not scoring runs? 
against  THOSE pitchers  there all dayum good pitchers AND redding had advantage having been on washington so he was better than usual

its NOT like the nationals are playing the phillies or  rangers or a team that is elite  its the cincinatti reds...........    2-9 last 11 road games....
IF you want to bet on a road fave that is 2-9 last 11 road games  be my guest

I'll take the pitcher that has a .172 BAA against 7 out of the 9 batters he will face tomorrow

Thats a good point. But I still can't get myself to back the Nats until they start winning some games.

Luck HOPEFULLY  won't be needed but in bases shit happens sometimes but this  if goes accordingly should be a 8 - 3 type game

John Maine and Randy Johnson are hardly elite level pitchers......

your right randy johnson isnt an ekite pitcher but he was in the middlle of an "elite" stretch  going  17 inn allowing 3 runs

John mAINE  has OWNED Washington nationals horribly like .202 BAA in 30 + innings soo he is elite vs. the nattys especially......

GAme 1 Cueto yes he is a dayum good pitcher and the line didint move Vegas  allowed cincy backers to win at a low p[rice KNOWING most of them will come back today and re bet them and lose their money

I don't necessarily think the guy who bets Cueto at a low price vs. the Nats is necessarily going to do the same thing with Harang. I played Cueto yesterday and I play favorites about as often as the sun comes up in the west!  I'm probably not playing Harang tonight.

Fading the Nats as faves or short dogs would have been a very profitable strategy this season.

bro, your logic makes ton of sense, but there have been a boatload of situations that match the one you are describing, the thing is between the pre-season hype on the nationals, and the way this team manages to lose game after game, taking them on a nightly basis is tempting. problem is this, vegas is not biting one bit. they're screwing you over even if you WIN. a team with a win loss record like washington should have nightly comebacks at +150, some nights +200, etc. etc. INSTEAD, washington is favored ALL the time. don't be a sucker, they're are plenty of games on the board!!

i agree though man that the books are giving nationals way to much credit and making them small dogs and small favs when they should always be big dawgs given there record......

and yes i am not saying to bet the natinonals everyday  im aying TODAY is perfect situation where we are actually getting a bargain as Nationals.......well should be favored......LOL

I played it this morning at +103 Nats. I don't care much for the team as a whole (who does?), but they played very close against Cueto yesterday, and I happen to like Martis a little. Nats have only won 9 at home, but they are 4-2 at home with Martis on the hill. Also, the Nats are 6-5 in his starts, which is pretty amazing considering their overall cruddy record. Harang does not impress me overall, and his road record has been awful (Reds only 1-5).  Martis' home numbers on a crappy team are much better than Harang's road numbers on an inconsistent team.

BOL on your play, but my courage only allowed me to play small.

Awesome post. Great info, a prime example of needing to be careful when betting on the supposed bad teams. 
To add a bit, those giants pitchers are very good..
Lincecum has been lights out lately, Johnson was going for win number 300, and Cain improves every start and is a good young pitchers. Their win loss record just does not show it because they have no hitting.
Nats +102 is a good value, but most importantly, nobody should be on the Reds today.
