I just asked the Bellagio sportsbook and they said they will wait until this game goes final to cash tickets. They view it as if the game is still being played. No winners or losers yet, wiat til the game goes final.

FYI: Just talked to my local. Whatever you bet last night is still good when the game becomes a final. So my 2 units at +160 are still good without Hammels pitching!

Just let the bet ride. I think bookies are trying to do the fairest thing by letting the bets ride because they want your business. In the long run, he is going to make his money, so why piss off the masses

There is an article on www.espn.com that explained what the Vegas books are doing. Tell your local to reference that so that he understands what he needs to do. My guess is that your local took more on the FAV, and doesn't want to have to payout.
Here is an excerpt -
What happens in Philly pays in Vegas.
In reality, the Tampa Bay Rays and Philadelphia Phillies are tied 2-2 after rain halted Game 5 of the World Series after 5½ innings.
But in the world of Las Vegas sports books, the Phillies won 2-1 -- and side bets on the Phillies have to be paid out.
Confused? There's a simple explanation.
According to Nevada Gaming Commission rules the final score of an official baseball game, for betting purposes, is determined by reverting to the last completed inning, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. And the Phillies led Game 5, 2-1, after five completed innings.
Wagers on totals and run-line bets are being refunded because gaming rules stipulate that at least 8½ innings must be played for those bets to pay off, according to the report.
"We're just following the regular baseball rules. This is a very common rule," Las Vegas Hilton sports book director Jay Kornegay said, according to the report. "We can't make exceptions.
"There was no special disclaimer for World Series games, or any playoff games for that matter, that your bet would continue if the game was suspended," Kornegay said, according to the report. "It's one of those unfortunate, misunderstood rules of baseball betting."

SPORTSBOOK.com: Tampa Bay Devil Rays vs Philadelphia Phillies, game has been officially suspended at the top of the 6th inning. Our rules regarding these situations are as follows:
SPORTSBOOK.com: “Major League Baseball games are official after 5 innings of play, or 4.5 innings if the home team is leading. If a game is subsequently called or suspended, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning unless the home team ties the score or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning. Then the winner will be determined by the score at the time the game is called.”

That was not there when I originally cut-n-pated from the site. My guess is that someone with MGM, or someone who had made a play on the game contacted ESPN, and the story was modified. That is strange though, that they would not follow the same rules as the other books in Vegas. And, the article does mention that this is a "Nevada gaming rule"
Oohh well - I didnt have either side, I had the OVER, and I am glad my bet was VOIDED based upon the way that Philly was leaving runners on base. But, what if the score would have been tied at 4 - 4, would the total have been cancelled since the game would have already been OVER the total? I can see how/why an UNDER would be cancelled, but I think an OVER should have counted. But, if you read the rules, a TOTAL has to go 8.5 innings. But, if the game had been tied 4 - 4 after the 5th inning, would those have counted since the score reverts back to the "last full inning"?
