For you, what's your favourite aspect about betting baseball ?
I know there are a few hardcore baseball fans here in the forum who would still watch even if they couldn't bet on it but for me I only bet baseball because it's a summer sport when there is little else on,only this year we got the World Cup which ends in early July though, but what I really love is the sheer volume of games that are played.
In baseball you have action every single day,at least 12 to 15 games on a daily basis so you are totally spoiled for choice in regards to moneylines,totals,1st 5 inning lines, runlines etc. Some people see the number of games being played as a negative and that there's too many games and it's impossible to keep up with stats, update your records etc but I just think you can always find at least 3 or 4 bets that you absolutely love every day of the week.
The bookie remember has to put out a line on every game (and will make mistakes), you however, don't have to bet every line, you can just sit back and cherry pick your favourite bets and be on the way to having a profitable season whilst enjoying the action.

I like the fact that no points are involved .Just win the game and you win your bet.Assuming you don't play run lines.
That is a good advantage alright.Spreads and totals in football & basketball result in too many bad beats for bettors and moneyline bets are not very common in these sports.

me personally i try to pick out the best underdog line each day, there are usually at least 1 good one.
also, the first month of the year you can pick out a couple of underrated teams and overrated teams and just bet them blindly and make money. i made a killing on the white sox a few years ago

Baseball and hockey are two major sports that have smallest margin between favs and dogs, -380 or -420 would proobably be the most highest money line spread in a MLB season. But you could see -1000 or -1450 in NBA or NFL in any given day or Sunday. Also ML dogs are pretty much alive in MLB, since the spread, unlike -14 or -11.5 in NBA or NFL, mostly set at -1.5.

Youre exactly right Europa, however I learned my lesson with the way pitching has gone I rarely bet unders in MLB anymore. Even a nice pitchers duel can in the blink of an eye turn into a slugfest once the bullpens come in.

Instead of our favorite part how about some strageties for this season? I love what you said wkufan I've bet many unders in my first season (which was last season) and lost quit a handful because of hot bats or whatever reason. Betting overs is what im going to aime for, where there's no limit of the number of runs you can go over the total but there is a limit where you can go under which is 0. Obviously theres no negatives.. So it's an illusion that the over has a better chance no?.... Overs to the bank this season boys

If you want great baseball information go to Sporting News. If you want a good baseball betting system go here. If you want another one go here.
I stay away from run lines and over/unders. I have been very successful without them. My strategy is the same across the board in all of the sports--one unit per play, find my statistical advantage, exploit the line, profit.
Stay away from first inning only prop bets unless you really need action. The folks that really need action, IMO, never make any real money. Just an old school observation.

Its one of the most relaxing sports to bet on. Your team is never out of it unless they're down 9-0 early and even those games involve a comeback here and there( twins/a's). Day games are another unique factor that most other American sports only have on weekends are a nice way to breakup the week. Nothing better then packing a lip and watching your favorite team play, even without money on the line.

I'm definitely going to have a look at 1st 5 inning totals this season especially where you have pitching duels and where dodgy bullpens are involved.Nothing worse than having an under 7 and going into the 7th inning it's 2-1 and both staters are pulled and the bullpens collapse and the final score ends up 5-4.
