Yanks, IMO have the best and deepest bullpen without question right now. Hughes has turned into an absolute stud. There are no real weak links here. Yes, bruney and coke are nothing special, but they are alright and between Rivera, Hughes, and Robertson --- you got 3 guys that can absolutely shut you down. Aceves has been a huge surprise and has looked real solid. Gaudin is also one of the better long men in baseball. What once was a weakness has turned into an absolute top notch unit.

Hughes, Aceves and Gaudin all can give at least 3 innings if really needed. Then Coke, Robertson, Bruney and Mo but the 3 mentioned before Mo and Gaudin are suspect.

And Gaudin has to be used in different situations. He's kinda the 6th starter and an extra reliever. He can't be used every time. He did get his Sunday start pushed back to Wednesday and Joba back to get another start. So it kinda weakens the bullpen when say Gaudin gets used on Wednesday to start, they lose a pitcher in the BP for the series against Boston because Joba wouldn't go to the pen.

White Sox are right up there in conversation. I used to think that the red sox had the best pen in the majors coming into the year but all those guys numbers are way off this year, even papelbon. He's already at his career high for walks with a month and a half to play

RED SOX have the best bullpen in baseball in my opinion.
They do have a great bullpen as Texas could only score 2 runs off them tonight. It is much better than the Yankees bullpen besides MO. You were right on the money on that post Paz.

Boston still has a better bullpen than the Yanks.....There may be a team with a better bullpen in the majors than the Red Sox but it is definantly not the White Sox......There is only 1 team with a better bullpen ERA than the Red Sox and it is the Giants.

Bosox bullpen is very flawed. Even papelbons expected era is OVER 4. Bard has been their best pitcher if you go by expected era.
Ramon Ramirez, Saito and Delcarmens eras should be in the 4's. Obviously, Papelbon has shown he can outperform his expected era, but his expected era is almost a run and a half higher than his career expected era.
Coke and Bruney (arguably the 2 weakest yankees relievers) have better expected eras than all of the afformentioned aside from papelbon/bard

red sox pen is the best. yes i know im biased but i go based on era. recently they have sucked but i dont think that will continue for the rest of the season. yanks pen use to suck and now it seems like its untouchable. but do you really trust phil hughes in a tie game in the post season? only guy u can rely on in that pen is rivera. im not so sure about the rest of those guys. not sayin i trust every guy in bostons pen. but they are more battle tested.

Bosox have 3 guys with an era under 3.00 and Okajima is at 3.00...The highest era of a reliever that still pitches is Delcarmen which is 3.26.....As bad as some of these guys have been pitching their era's are way better than the Yanks....

With the addition of Sherrill I think the Dodgers might have the best pen in the league.
Broxton is a bit of a ? mark because of that lingering toe problem, but he's still among the league's best closers. I'd take Mo over him, but honestly, he's elite.
Sherrill is a very very good setup man from the left side. Belisario, Tronc, Mota are all very good relievers. James McDonald is a superb stretch guy...look at his #s NOT as a starter. Very good stuff. Hong-Chih Kuo looks healthy and has been lights out since his return. This pen is deep as hell.
This pen might not be quite as strong as it was in past years, but it ain't bad.
Jeff Weaver as the long man...I'd take him over gaudin any day. And this is as a Yanks fan.
