Yu Darvish….

No trigger pulled yet on padres as more then likely dodger line gets steamed tonight by the LA train 

That's 6-0 on the road with Darvish starting, winning by scores of 6-3 (over the Dodgers), 6-3, 9-1, 7-3, 5-3, and 10-2 (again over the Dodgers). Darvish pitched so-so in a couple of those wins, but the run support was always there for him.

The home team in winner-take-all games of a 5 or 7 game #MLBPostseason series is just 17-24! That is despite an average line of -135.7 in these games!

In his next start, he was removed after two innings against the Royals due to tightness in his triceps. It was initially thought he needed extra rest before his next start, but we wouldn't see Yamamoto on the mound again for almost three months. Since his return on September 10th, the Dodgers have kept him under 80 pitches per start. The Dodgers aren't looking for more than 5 innings out of him tonight.

That's true, 1-3 this season with an ERA of 6.43 in 21 innings and 0-3 in September of 2023 with an ERA of 4.00 in 18 innings.

When Yu Darvish has pitched on 4 days rest this season (as he will tonight), his ERA has been 6.43 in those four starts. In each of his other 12 starts, he has been afforded more than 4 days rest, and in those games his ERA was 1.91.

I am excluding his September 4th start when he returned from being out of action for more than three months.

Neither pitchers’ previous starts/splits will matter much in a clincher. Short hook for both tonight.

Final games of series come down to playing tight vs loose. SD will be sweating more than the Dodgers IMO.

The splits are just so eye opening for padres! 

Add dodgers haven’t won 2 str8 games in October in 3 seasons
