Best opening movie scene of all time

I know its not a great, but I like the opening scene of Scream

opening armed robberies in Heat (1995) and The Town (2010) definately get your attention and set the plot for the rest of the movie

opening scene in The Big Lebowski just screams "this is going to be one off-the-wall screwball funny movie"

think you can add the opening of Apocalypse Now (or "Redux"). it's pretty strong with The Doors song "The End" in the background.

it's rumored that when Martin Sheen as Capt Willard did the hotel room scene, he was really drunk (or stoned) out of his mind and cut his face when he punched the mirror. that's why he has a bandade on this cheekbone in some later scenes.

"Redux" is head and shoulders above the original. I think the French Plantation scenes really fills in the movie. Coppola should have fought harder to keep that plus the stealing Kilgore's surfboard (it's not that long. about 3 minutes) scenes in the original. the "bunny helicopter base" scene is really not important to the overall plot so I had no problem with that not being in the original but it IS fun esp Clean's comeback line to the bunny looking out the copter and asking "who are you?" "oh, I'm next mam"

In Brian DePalma's Hitchcock rip-off of Pyscho, Dressed to Kill the shower scene is first with credits and you have Angie Dickerson masturbating in the shower as her husband shaves at the sink.There is full close-ups of a soappy pair of breasts and close-up lingering shot of a vagina with blond pubic hair(Dickerson).There may have been a body double but the next shot is of Angie in orgasam and her husband rolls off of her.All the shower scenes include somebodys hands caressing somebodys breasts and cooch.

Redux is one of the greatest films of the modern era.
