The books are good, the first one is pretty much the same as the first season. The second book gets different. I really enjoyed reading them and getting a different view on Dexter all together. They are a must read, if you are into reading.

I agree, Rita's character is getting very very boring. I hope they do something interesting with her character, or get rid of her somehow. Maybe the trinity killer could get a hold of her, that would definitely make things a whole lot more interesting.

wow what an episode....the reporter is trinitys daughter. Did not see that coming. Dexter dragging trinity into the kitchen by his neck and almost killing him was comical.

i thought she was the shooter last week, but had no idea he was her dad. not even until the next episode's sceens. I thought she was just being a smart ass. Never liked her from the beginning.

Great Show. Can't wait...

I didnt get that she called him DAD but maybe I didnt hear it correctly.

She said Dad. It sounded sarcastic, but then they showed the upcoming scenes from next episode and if confirmed she is Trinity's Daughter. I knew she was trouble from the get go, but liked her titties.

I cannot fucking wait to see what kind of finale we get this year. The "whats next" segment they showed yesterday got me wanting more Dexter right now.

So what is the twist going to be?

Any guesses?

I noticed that Dexter punches the next door neighbor and I think the person pulling out the gun is either the daughter or the wife..

I hope next season they go after and figure out who killed Harry, I thought that was the premise this season.

I thought that was so funny when Dexter punched the neighbour in the face.

I can not wait for the next episode, I think this has been the best season yet. I still can't stand rita. I really wish that the Trinity killer gets a hold of her. I would also love to see who killed Harry, I never even thought of that storyline.

Does anyone know how many seasons there are going to be?

Well last season they hinted that Dex would go after the person who killed Harry.

Remember the whole suicide crap and how there was the scene on the golf course with the department head?

For sure I was expecting it to come out that he killed Harry and I still expect it to happen.

The LaGuerta (sp) marriage thing is a total losing tangent, kill that one quickly please.

It seems this show likes to kill off the good characters and let the marginal ones hang around with stupid story lines.

Dokes, the reporter GF (this year), Lundy, the GF/Hooker/Cop last season..those were GOOD characters and all killed.

Then we are left with Batista (a bore this season) Rita and LaGuerta.

More Harry and Deb and Dexter, less of the others next season please.

I also noticed Deb bringing up Dexters mother with that file, which opens the possibility about Harry being killed etc.

the "who killed Harry" has been the undertone to the show since season 1......they constantly bleed this along with clues, e.g. this season with who is Harry's mistress etc.

my guess is that it won't be until the final season (whenever that is), that we actually find out

I too wouldn't mind seeing Rita bite the big one.   Trinity clearly knows who Dexter is, thus where he lives etc....however, Dexter has avoided this mind field before, even this season with the rouge hot police officer

problem they have with killing Rita is....who would raise Harrison and the other kiddies?  Dexter as a single daddy?....not sure I see that

Deb rules, the Chinese dude is funny and I don't mind Batista.....can definitely do without LaGuerta though

Great finale.

Once Dexter went home and the phone rang I knew right then what had happened.

I didnt expect Harrison to be in the puddle however..... Does Dexter groom Harrison to become like him or steer him away from that life?

Good work by the producers and writers here putting together a very solid finale.

How about John Lithgow. This guy is brilliant in any project he works on and deserves recognition for a masterful performance throughout this season.

Has anyone here read the books? I'm wondering what kind of parallel exists, if any, between the seasons so far and the original work by Jeff Lindsay.

Lithgow WAS great..the ending was different and I would rather have Rita be zapped in a plane explosion but I can see why they did it that way, quite symbolic and it explained the earlier exchange between Dex and Lithgow before he offed him.

I think next season Dex gets to the bottom of Harry's death and some other killer, that should be the focus.

Michael Hall looked like death during that interview..

I have read the first book, then halfway through the second i got bored. The first book is the same as the first season till the end of it. Then the second book is different. They are good books, I just get bored very easily. I recommend reading them,

Did not see Rita dying,  great show, but where does Dexter go from here?

does he keep the kids?  or does he disappear like he mentioned to Trinity before he killed him.

Probably the best show on showtime, hands down.

Hall did look like a weirdo during the lithgow interview.

I think Hall does a GREAT job in the show and I know this next comment might not be popular but I liked him even better in the role as David in Six Feet Under..

I think the kids blend into the background next season and we see more of a single Dexter, and I imagine Deb will figure things out and start to pry into his alter personality, maybe be part of a killer plot since she seems to get involved in every single one..lol

Harry might be the best character in the show, there is so much to learn from him and so much unknown that I really enjoy his and Dex's interaction..
