 I'd like to get a list going of films that still haunt you to this day. I'm a glutton for punishment and enjoy finding movies that hit me like a ton of bricks. Any movies added would be greatly appreciated.......

Well, for me "I am Legend" just can't get out of my mind..... I'm always thinking when i'm driving around what would I go checked for If I was in his situation, where would I live, what would I do all day long, what weapons, truck, etc.  I'm always questionning myself about this movie and both movies 28 days later and 28 weeks later come in mixing with I am legend and makes me think what a fucked up situation these three movies shows and what would I do if they happens......

 Saw American Me when I was young. Brutal film, very tough to watch like most of these in here are. Forgot about Sherry Baby, Maggie Gyllenhaal was great in it......

Is your avatar Charles Bukowski? If so, you have to see Born Into This if you haven't already. They also made Factotum about Bukowski with Matt Dillon and Marisa Tomei. Didn't care much for it though....

think you can add "The Brave One" which has been the pay 4 channels recently. kind of an upgraded Jodie Foster version of "death wish" but still pretty intense and worth watching.

btw, "Sleepers" and "Lucky Number Slevin" are two of the best relatively unknown movies ever made.

Yep... that's Buk... the 20th century writer with more guts than any of them (with perhaps John Fante' and Hemmingway as close seconds)... and yes, I have seen Born Into This and Factotum... neither were as good as Barfly....

This is a great list... I love disturbing films....

Pink Flamingo's.....garbage....its a John Waters flick and I don't know if you guys ever heard of him, but this shit is trash. Unfortunately I was forced to watch it and will never forget it
 
I'm talking bad....tranny eats real dog shit at the end....I don't think I need to say much more than that....funny part is that this guy, John Waters, is like a respected movie maker for his "shock value"

I don't know how I missed that one since I own it. Nicolas Cage won an Oscar for his role. I've pretty much been living in that movie for about a month. My ex-fiance can prob pass as the hooker too....Does workin at hooters count???

Leaving Las Vegas is a GREAT flick and great book as well with a helluva a good soundtrack...
 
Oh, and as a lover of camp film, I will admit that I not only liked Pink Flamingos... I own it along with most of Waters' films... the guy is in a league of his own.... but I agree... not for everyone...
