onarush -  You dont have Cache on your list. It would come with an asterisk and if you have not seen it it will definately be at the top of you list once you do
 
Of course it is all opinion but there alot of movies that i dont like in your list. However, it has some of my favorites.
 
you probably have netflix? I reccomend it for any movie buff. If you like movies it will open you up to a whole new world.
 
Watch Cache, its tough to get through (slow) but judging by some of your movies above (foriegn) you will have problem. Its french.
 
Requiem for a Dream (soundtrack is awsome)
 
Also watch " the corndog man" its pretty creepy

Star 80 : can't believe it's based on a true story. Eric Roberts plays the creepy boyfriend of Dorothy Stratton in a role that many critics thought he should have won an Oscar for but didn't because the subject matter was too lurid. 
 
and I repeat the controversial Irreversible : Monica Belluci gets anally raped in a brutal 9 minute sequence in a scene that doesn't cut and then the rapist beats the shit out of her. Also, a guy mistankenly thought of as the rapist gets his head bashed in to death with a fire extinguisher. It's a really fucked up film that was featured in the Cannes Film Festival years ago and many people walked out before the first 15 minutes were through.

 Tx 4 info......The only reason Irreversible isn't on that list of posted flims is because it's on the original list that I posted. I will def check out Star 80 though......

agreed... infact, it is strange that i hadn't even thought of it when thinking of disturbing films for this thread... it goes to show that a film can actually initiate the same denial in its viewers as it does in thos who really go through this stuff... WOW... yeah... that one is BRUTAL!!!

 onarush.... have you seen Descent? The one with Rosario Dawson? The final scene is one of the most disturbing examples of distressing justice I have ever seen... and she is BRILLIANT in this role... a fine film!

Oh... and Descent....

 

So, this is not a film for everyone as it is dark and literally brutal in a couple of scenes. The original version is rated NC-17 and if there is a tamer version available, skip it, because the NC-17 scenes are pivotal to the plot and not gratuitous. This is an important film. It is about the fragility of power and the complexity of self-empowerment. It is about the need of the helpless to find help in finding that they are not helpless and do not need help. If that is too confusing for you, then let's just say it is a revenge fantasy with mythic overtones. Rosario Dawson makes a transformation in this film that is as tremendous as it is real. She is BRILLIANT and a catalyst for ALL of the emotion of the film and should have received Academy Award notice for her startling work in this picture. Apparently, the Academy doesn't notice this caliber of work. Without giving anything away, I can say that the look on her face in the final scene says it all: Life finds a way of balancing power and it is going to be O.K. now... it's O.K.... right?

Just walked in the the door... Yes I have seen Descent. That is some sick, brutal $hit. Fits this thread to perfection....

 I have Bad Lieutenant and Miller's crossing sitting on the stand. Trying to get through one at a time via Netflix.... I'm shocked that I never heard any buzz about Miller's Crossing. Time piece written and directed by Coen Bros with a sick cast. Gabriel Byrne, Steve Buscemi, John Turtorro, Albert Finney and Marcia Gay Harden.....

 Next on the list is Sometimes in April and Cache......

Surprised not to see Schindler's List on this post. Ralph Fiennes as Amann Goeth is as scary as any monster from any horror movie. Devastating!

Also whoever listed "Bully" is right on too. For some reason this films haunts me. Realistic and based on a true story

I always thought 8MM was really creepy and the smut video in the film is absolutely disturbing
