Edge of Darkness

thought it would be typical "Mad Max" Mel Gibson BUT turned out to be a very good political/murder coverup thriller based on a 1980's British TV serial of the same name. worth watching

I agree, worth watching, believable plot, solid acting.... This guy was great.I thought the ending made the movie.

somewhat suprised Ray Winstone has never been in a Guy Ritchie movie. seems like they type of actor he would select.

agree. thought it was somewhat of a "suprise ending"

it's on HBO2east again Sunday Dec 5th (tomarrow) @ 5:00 pm pacific time for those that want to watch or record.

Not too bad.  I'm a fan of the Farrellys, but for some reason never watched this.  Wasn't LOL funny, but an ok movie.  Costanza was the funniest character in the movie.

half way thru "Amelia" with Hillary Swank in the title role.

it sure is NOT "The Spirit of St Louis" with Jimmy Stewart as Charles Lindbergh (1957) which is one of my all time favorite avaition movies and worth recording or renting.

The Tournament wasn't bad, it had some decent moments for that type of movie. I watched the entire movie so that is a positive. The Asian chick has a lot of talent.

finally watched Brooklyn's Finest

thought it was pretty much a convoluted mess. sure glad I didn't spend any money to see it in a theater.

I agree,  the movie was a mess.


Richard Gere's character.  

Watching his day play out was the best part of the movie, especially when he was " off duty." I though it brought up a great moral question; Mind your business or get involved? Who wants to face that situation in the apartment? Or go home and have apathy on your conscience? Kind of a mind fuck.

you could kind of figure where the Brooklyn's Finest ending was headed half way thru the movie. a Guy Ritchie "bring everyone and everything together at the end" finish. didn't really have any "suprise" to it.

Inception.

Absolute rubbish and brain pollution!  Turned it off after 45 minutes and flung it in the woods.

just finished "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus". kind of interesting story and acting was OK. Lily Cole as Valentina is HOT. does has a definate Terry Gilliam "Time Bandits"-"Adventures of Baron Munchausen" quality to it. IF you liked those, you probably will like this.

Heath Ledger, as Tony the charity scammer, died half way thru the filming and it's interesting how they used Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law as different ""physically transformed visions" of his character.

happened to come upon a political murder mystery called "Formosa Betrayed" late last night. thought it was a pretty good movie worth watching or recording next time it's on.

so I was up late last night paging thru the movie channels and saw this "I Sell the Dead" body snatcher "horror" movie and thought I would give it a tumble just to see. turns out it was pretty funny with some very "off the wall" situations. 1800's Irish setting but ended up with vampires, guouls and even a space alien in the plot.

it's on Showtime 2 tomarrow the 25th @ 7:45 am est for those that want to watch or record.

Sex Drive -  pretty funny movie in the road trip euro trip type mold

Tooth Fairy - The Rock as the tooth fairy and actually was not bad. Not the greatest thing I have ever watched but I did enjoy it

Insomnia- Christopher Nolans least known flick I guess Pacino and Robin Williams. I really enjoyed this one. Some good twists, tension through most of it. Enjoyable movie



Just saw The Town as well.  Good movie.  If you notice in one short scene in the movie, Affleck's character is watching Heat on the tv.  And you're right about the scene with Deniro and Pacino.  They weren't together for the filming of that.  

I would say though that Nolan's least known movie is "Following".  Pretty good movie.

The Hurt Locker- I liked it more than that colorful piece of crap Avatar so I guess thats why it won best picture. Solid movie, no real plot though just scenes of them diffusing bombs but it was pretty good. Jeremy Renner is a good actor
