NJDevils used to make a thread like this every month but I'm not sure what happened to it. I always enjoyed those thread and thought they were pretty helpful so I'll try to continue the tradition...

Meet Dave I couldn't even finish this, one of Eddie's worse movies ever.


Hancock Pretty good flick, I never really have complaints with Will Smith movies.

The Hustler  
I dont want to give any of the story away so i'll just say that Paul Newman plays a pool hustler. Its an older movie and I enjoyed it a lot.

Changeling  IMDB

 Really disturbing movie, but in a keep your attention kind of way. Not really the kind of movie I would go out of my way to see normally, but since Clint was the director I figured it would be OK. Here is an link for the movie. Definitely worth watching. I'd give it a 7.

Fred Claus Funny movie. I love Vince Vaughn's acting style. Once he get's rambling you know the laughter is coming. Nice holiday movie.

The Machinist- Starring a sickly looking Christian Bale about an insomniac that starts to question his own sanity after meeting a new employee at his manufacturing job.
 
This movie is very good and has a Hitchcock-esque feel to it.  Christian Bale is about as skinny as a man can get in this film and it's amazing the transformation he had to go through for this role.  All in all, a great psychological thriller.  I recommend seeing this if only to witness Christian Bale and then realize that he played Batman only a year later.

Just watched Step Brothers. Much funnier than I expected. I was starting to get a little tired of Ferrell's shtick after ricky bobby and that ice skating movie, but this one has him back on top as the funniest man alive, imo. John C. Reilly is also hilarious in this one. There's a chick in this movie, don't know her name, but she almost steals this movie with just a few minutes of screen time. You'll know who I'm talking about if you see it.

I just rented this this yesterday... plan to watch it tonight

Did you guys see Rescue Dawn. Christian Bale is a prisoner of war during vietnam. He lost an unbelievable amount of weight for this role too (which doesn't necessarily make him a great actor, but he is a great actor). Powerful movie, directed by Werner Herzog. A true story to boot.

Yeah, I've seen it.  What makes that movie so amazing is how his progresses throughout the film.  He starts the movie healthy and then as the movie progresses, slowly loses a ton of weight.  Amazing story also and he does a great job in it.  In the Machinist, he's skinny the whole movie.  But I did like that Rescue Dawn movie.  A very unnerving, incredible survival story.

I started this thread in October and nobody posted in it so I didnt do a November one. I dont think I watched anything new in a while...too much NHL,NFL on my TV
 
Maybe the fact the jerkoff company I worked for closed shop will give me more movie time in between sending out resumes and cover letters to get ignored
 
Gonna watch Before the Devil Knows Your'e Dead tonight.
Then I bought Snatch on DVD just havent watched it yet

Role Models Saw this over the weekend. F*cking hilarious. My face was a little sore from laughing as I left the theater.

Step Brothers Didn't really care for it. It was funny at times but way too redundant. Will Farrell has fell off pretty bad...

I didn't like step brothers either. The comedy was stupid funny and I mean really stupid.  What a waste.


Recently saw "Surveillance".  6/10.  About 2 fbi agents questioning 3 witnesses trying to find the killer.  Some twist towards the end but nothing to rave about.

Before the Devil Knows Your Dead- I thought this movie was great, watched that last weekend.  Crazy freaking movie good acting, good plot all around good movie.  Top 5 movie I've seen all year.

Wanted- Watched this the other night, I didn't like it very much few cool things in the movie, Jolie looks great as well makes up for it being sort of bad. 

Tropic Thunder- Had a few funny moments thats about it, pretty bad overall.  Not very funny in my opinion.  Tom Cruise dancing around about the only funny part of the movie.

Now debating if I feel like wasting time in watching Ghost Rider, probably won't do it.  Just saw a preview for a new Nazi movie with Tom Cruise, rated pg-13 I started to laugh.  Guarantee that will be a bad movie.

Howl's Moving Castle- Animated Japanese film (anime) but isn't really like those crazy Anime films you may have seen in the past.  It's actually a cool kids film with Disney Pictures picking up the rights here in the States.  I liked it but I'm sure people will be turned off by the animation. 
 
Boogeyman- Don't ask me why I watched this but it was on television and I started watching it Sunday morning because I couldn't sleep and football wasn't on yet.  THIS MOVIE STUNK SOOOOOO BAD!  I could have directed this.  It wasn't scary.  It wasn't gory.  The story and acting sucked.  And the end was so freaking dumb I wanted to call Ghost House myself and asked why they greenlit this.

Before the Devils Knows You're Dead
Good plot. plus the way the movie was presented with them revealing different things at different points of the movie because it was not told in chronological order was intriguing and added to the suspense. Naked Marisa Tomei for no real reason was good also. I thought this was a very good movie

Finally saw the Dark Knight tonight movie was pretty damn good.  I originally thought all the hype over the movie was because of the death of Heath Ledger.  After watching I reconsidered my original thoughts.  Ledger's role as the Joker was something I can't even explain.  Great role in that movie, perfect person to play that.  One of the best acted movies I've seen in a very long time.  Ledger's role was terrific.  I give it a 9.5 out of 10.

Also saw Fred Claus this evening pretty good actually, thought it was pretty funny.  Probably have to watch again, it was just Vince Vaughn being Vince Vaughn.  Definitely worth a watch

I just bought this on Blu-Ray yesterday and it's something to behold.  I've seen the movie I think twice (once in the IMAX theater and once at home now) and I can't imagine a more perfect movie put together.  As great as Heath Ledger is, I think Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent is also very good.  Great writing, great direction, a few plot problems but other than that, one of the top movies in 2008!

Its one of the better movies I've seen in a very long time.  Don't know if you guys enjoyed The Departed or Blood Diamond but I thought very highly of those.  I'm thinking that The Dark Knight was better than both.

watched it again tonight, saw it in theaters at midnight showing, it is a great movie, action packerd, romance, great plot, and occasional comedy....Heath Ledger goes out with a bang!

For the Resident Evil's fan, check out Resident Evil:  Degeneration.  It's animated but pack lots of action.

Transporter 3 was good, IMO, it's better than the 2nd one.
