Adam Carrolla plays a 40yr old that used to box but now is just a boxing instructor at a local gym ( i think he actually did this and construction like he does in the movie before he got famous)
anyway he attempts a comeback at age 40 and comedy ensues. pretty good movie, some funny lines and good laughs also a good "date movie" because of the relationship part of the movie.

I just finished watching Before the Devil Knows You're Dead and I cant figure out why some of you are praising it. This was nothing but a snoozefest to me . The end of it got slightly more exciting but that doesnt take away the 1st hour and a half of pure boredom. I wanted to turn this movie off so many times but had to stick it out because of the good reviews in this thread. Maybe it was just me that has a problem with it, but I wouldn't recommend this movie unless you want to see some nice Marissa Tomei titties.
I also just saw Meatballs with Bill Murray. It was exactly what you would expect of an '80's (late '70's) movie about summer camp with Bill Murray. It had its momets and will enertain you.
Also, Juno. I've heard people say this is a chick flick, but I really enjoyed it. I'm a huge Michael Cera fan and also like Jason Bateman. I thought the girl who played Juno was outstanding. Good stroryline.

Kung Fu Panda- Pretty fun animated film. The action and animation in this film is pretty amazing to watch (especially on Blu-Ray) and of course, it has a great message for the kids. Jack Black plays Kung Fu Panda pretty well and it's one of the more enjoyable animated films that I've seen recently.
The Counterfeiters- Foreign film that was nominated for an Academy Award last year. An amazing story about how the Nazis during WWII implemented a secret counterfeiting mission to try and hyperinflate the Allied forces economies, but used imprisoned person to do all of this. Very powerful film and an amazing true story. If you were a person during WWII and imprisoned by the Nazis in a concentration camp, would you help the Nazis to save your own skin? The moral dilemma is addressed throughout the film and when you realize how this single operation could have drastically changed the war, it makes it that much more powerful. Depressing but highly recommend seeing.
The Happening- Hands down, the worst movie I saw in 2008. I can't believe all the problems this movie has. Horrible script, piss poor acting with terrible casting choices, not suspenseful, rated R but I've seen worse violence in PG-13 movies, etc. M. Night Shamalamadingdong should not be allowed to make movies anymore after his last few. Oh, and if you're looking for the twist ending in this one, you'll be sorely disappointed as there is none. No resolution, just done with no explanation. Stay away from this unless you're forced to!
The Wrestler- As a closet WWE fan for most of my life, this movie hit on all chords. It legitimizes the "fake" nature of wrestling but also shows the glaring underbelly of the industry and how dangerous it can be. The rampant drug use, the lack of serious money for most wrestlers, the strained relationships, etc. Mickey Rourke should win the Academy Award this year because he captures everything in this film. If you've ever been a fan of professional wrestling, SEE THIS FILM! If you've never been a fan of professional wrestling, SEE THIS FILM! It's gripping, it's powerful, it's excellent.

AJ saw Juno when it first came out on DVD thought it was a pretty damn good movie as well. Glad I'm not the only one...
Watched Traitor, not a bad movie not a great movie definitely worth a watch. Think they give away a few things way to early. Other than that its pretty decent. Not a bad watch. Let me know what you guys think.

Snatch bought the DVD a while ago finally watched it. It had some action , I found it funny, every so often i needed to rewind to understand everyone but it was an enjoyable movie. Funny twists, action. I liked Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels more than I liked Snatch but Snatch was a solid movie.

Saw 21 last night and I loved it. After about 10 minutes I thought I was going to hate it because of the acting, but the main character grew on me and his fat jonah hill wannabe friend didnt get much screen time after that. Once you are introduced to the rest of the cast it is a well acted movie, especially Kevin Spacey. Kate Bosworth is hot as hell. What gambler wouldn't love the storyline to this one...counting cards to beat vegas. A lot of twists and exciting moments in this one. Check it out if you havent seen it.

just saw The Bucket List on HBO. I think Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman are two of the best actors of my lifetime and together in this movie they were outstanding. kinda "dark comedy" being about terminal illness and all but well worth seeing.

Searchwarrant recommended this to me last week. Documentary about South Florida and the drug trade in the late 70s-80s. Very interesting, dragged at times but it was unreal the ways they brought the drugs into the US, how much $ (cash) they made, the level of violence. Good movie. Makes you want to go into business besides the getting caught and going to jail part
