I think using it was a mistake and he was influenced by parties who had other interests and reasons.
Ya like those that wanted to keep the damn Soviets out of Northern Japan. IF the war had NOT ended when it did without an invasion, we would probably have a North and South Japan just like Korea. the Soviets DID grab Japans Kuril Islands at the end of the war.

I didnt see strong enough reasoning to drop the bombs we did. Going through school I always sort of thought it was a last resort and we had no choice.
After growing up and looking at things outside the mainstream media and what we are told, I dont see reason enough to go to these extremes given the status of the war at that time..nor did we need to target what we did and kill as many innocent people as we did.
I think there were better options out there and the reasoning for using the bomb was suspect.

You didnt see strong enough reason? Probably because you didnt have a nation lookin at you for the answer to keep americans alive. Tough choice indeed, but to question the call after the fact doesnt really mean anything.
What other options would have ended the war swiftly?
It was extreme....to stop the war immediately instead of dragging out much longer and killing way more people than those bombs did....including way more american lives. They sure didnt seem to care much about us when they bombed Pearl Harbor.....
War is hell. Thank god someone with BALLS was in office when this crisis occurred.....

Sure did take balls. To know you were gonna kill A LOT of people (200,000+) I'm sure wasnt an easy call. Saving many more lives by doing it was the right call.
