Vanilla Ice
"ICE ICE BABY"
Personally, I am a Joe Budden guy of late(nice links JPero), and I don't think there is anyone out with as much substance and lyrical skill as him all wrapped up in a style that I dig 100%. Imo, him and Slaughterhouse are holding it down as tight as anyone can at the moment and looking back at the "legends" of yesteryear, possibly at tight as all them ever did(he arguably blows them all away with his lyrics).
With that said, I opened this thread over the weekend thinking it was gonna be 233 replies flaming the fuck out of Chamillionaire, and I was very surprised at how good some of those links were. Honestly, he was a guy I pretty much have ignored the last 5 years, and if you asked me a week ago what I thought about him, I would have said "Down South trash rap that the kiddies like." I liked what I have heard though and Cham is now on my radar. A couple of times throughout the posted songs I saw promotions for his upcoming studio album due in March(Venom I believe it was), and I am gonna take a shot on it. Hopefully he can take some of the talent I saw on those mixtapes and translate it into a good studio album. If I like what I hear, I may go and grab a couple of those Mixtape Messiahs and maybe his two older albums. Good stuff, IWinBets. You won me over with those links.
Good stuff to all who contributed. I literally(over the course of a few days) listened to every single link in this thread. From Cham, to Jedi Mind Tricks, to the original In My Lifetime(which I haven't heard in a decade), to Milkbone(lmao).......there was a shitload of good stuff from the past.
