Listen to a bunch of classic rock.

Would have to say my favorite rock band would have to be the Doors.... If you want something from my lifetime probably Nirvana.

Saw Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers with Stevie Nicks.
Seen Beck and they surprisingly put on a good show.

Led Zeppelin - Kasmir - Earls Court 1975

Tom Petty - anything from any of his albums..some of the best traveling music you can listen to.

Favorite band to emerge in the last 10 years? Kings Of Leon. Very unique sound and they are an unbelievable band to see live...

80s Rock Music sucked, IMO of course...nothing can touch the late 60's and 70's music

Metallica,AC/DC,GNR and other metal bands from the 80's/90's and 2000's
Megadeth  and Nickelback just to name a few plus other Rock punk Metal rap/hip hop and certain songs from other types of music but not everything country and Blues
But stuff before birth from the 60's and have certain types as well usually rock music is popular
Not to forget certain 50's songs

Born in '86 and would have to agree that if you want rock you have to go back to the 60's and 70's those are the groups who have stood the test of time as their music is still better than the rock groups coming out today. I still think Dark Side of The Moon is one of the greatest albums ever recorded. The only modern rock I really listen to is Nirvana, The Black Keys, Sublime, The Smashing Pumpkins had some good stuff in their early days, and Coldplay surprisingly has some good music in their catalog. Outside of that I cannot think of many other decent rock groups around.
