March 6th 1981 (freshman in high school) I saw U2 in their 1st Boston concert at the Paradise Theater. I've been with them ever since including sitting in band member seats during their 2001 Boston Elevation tour.
 
A close 2nd was The Stompers at Northeastern University.

Funny, all the old guys chime in first, unless you went to your first concert as a young kid, which I see some of you did.
 
Me, it was ZZ Top at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, 1985.

I was fifteen years old, and it was a chilly night in 1986. It was the Red Hot Chili Peppers touring for "Uplift Mofo Party Plan" at One Step Beyond in San Jose. The opening band was Faith No More, before Mike Patton.

Grate show!....Floyd really let's their fan's engulf the stage, mood, & music!   Songs from Animals,Division Bell, Wall, DArk Side, Meddle, & wishuwerehere don't remember entire set list, lot was cool venue & band 4 a 1st LSD   trip!

Fat man rocked...i wish there was such a thing as grateful dead 2day, but myself & girlfriend try see bob weir & rartdog shows when time allows! You go to any more shows? I can't wait i live like 20 min frim Beaver Stadium as u know home of Pennst.----(hate em) my team: Michigan STATE I have tix to MSU@PSU last game of season...would be special to end Lions undefeated season & very possible....we r talking college football  HAHAHA!!

I seen the Dead over 100 times.  I also went to Penn St for a semester or two fresh out of high school, so that's about all the info you're gonna get from me.

august of 1978, madison square garden, BLACK SABBATH 10th anniversary tour.....opening act was an unknown act that had just released their first single earlier that week.....VAN HALEN, single was kink's cover 'girl, you really got me now'.......
when eddie van halen played 'eruption', he blew the roof of the joint.

notes: Mike plays a few notes from 'Sweet Home Alabama' just before 'Glorified G.' PJ joins Neil for his encore, 'Rockin' in the Free World.' Blues Traveler and Soundgarden also played this show. Blues Traveler's John Popper helps out, playing harmonica on 'Baba O'Riley' from a wheelchair.
