3 double digit favorites losing SU with Cleveland pending.
question is is the league going thro a balance of power like college?
I mean I could cry all I want about the league being fixed or teams being overrated and whatever.
but truth is d leaguers are becoming valuable assets in the league especially for tanking teams and sooner and later the whole super team thing will be a thing of the past.

Y’all can call me crazy but we’re gonna be capping these kind of games where teams are tanking by also doing research on the d league players that have been called up on or are playing on 10 day contracts.

I really wouldn't pay that angle much attention. I had Kings live ml and they honestly played like a team just happy they were already in the playoffs after clinching last game and didn't really matter to them moving up in the standings. Of course D leaguers want to prove and showcase their stuff but there D league for a reason. NBA is all about trying to figure out who's gonna show up tonight or not really no stats involved

while I agree with you I think the league needs a restructure balance is term of salary cap terms.
ducan Robinson and Joe Harris is a prime example how overpaid they are for the production they produce which is basically shooting and making a sufficient amount of 3s.
everyone in the league can now pretty much shoot and even d leaguers are coming in and shooting at an alarming rate.

In retrospect it was pretty blatant. Sac had clinched game before and really were in a position with nothing to gain from going all out. But add to that that Mike Brown probably called the dogs off on his mentor Poppovich knowing this is most likely Pops last season as Poppovich is a kind of guy that just retires mid Summer rather than go for the swan song farewell season. So Kings w nothing to lose nor gain against a respected coach on the slide gift him the win. Hindsight is 20/20 but that's what likely happened. Somehwere Pops and Mike Brown tinked a very fine bottle of wine and smiled.

But its more than guys who can shoot the basketball well. Isaiah Thomas for example prolific scorer and signed three 10 day contracts in 2021 and one in 2022 coming up from the D league. Out of 4 teams nobody cared to extend his contract. Why? Because shooting is all the guy did nothing else. There's at least 6 different stat categories that I can think of

and what about the wolves game?
2 Undrafted portland players one in skylar mays was playing in a 10 day contracts outplayed the wolves starting 5 besides edwards..
Julian champagne from the spurs had 26 points a nobody I never heard off that went undrafted.
it’s an alarming rate that d leaguers are outplaying usual rotation guys who have short or long term contracts or guys drafted in the first round.. which brings me back d leaguers at some point will start to get more recognition and you will see less long term contracts in the near future. You will see 2 years contract at max for veteran to mid level players and 3 year contract for superstar players.

youre right and the Celtics dodged a bullet when they didn’t sign him long term. You can say all you want about ainge handling the Thomas situation.
but thomas was a complete liability of defense even before his hip injury.
so why aren’t d leaguers gonna be more valuable going forward when you can sign them for 2 10 day contracts before signing them for the rest of the season and getting max production because their playing their ass off as oppose to a player who’s locked on a contract for 2-3 years and isn’t producing for what he was signed for.
again everyone in the league can pretty much shoot. It’s a matter if you can play on both ends of the court.. but at what expense?

Well for one the players being called up have to be consistent to earn those nice contracts. I know you look at Champagnes numbers today and go "wow how is this guy not have a full contract?" Well before tonight in his last 10 games only scored DD twice. One game was 12, the other 11. Also commits' 2-3 fouls a game. He's also young and a rookie who went undrafted sure he could grow but hard to really gasp his future potential

well I’m not asking why isn’t he signed. I just think that your average nba player doesn’t produce at a high level anymore.. so what is the point of signing them long term or more than a year or 2 where you can just draft someone late or find someone in the d league.
also with the whole portal thing in college some kids are staying a year or 2 longer transfer to another program before they go into the nba. But those are usually players who feel they need to increase their draft value..

Nuggets are a Joke...2 games ago..they got destroyed by Houston with all their starters playing.....Then the starters got a day off vs the Suns and the bench played well...Now all the staters are playing against a G league team and they struggling.....This is your #1 seed in the West.....

Now running away with the lead.. but yea this isn’t a good showing on their part. They look kind of fatigue as of late?
I truly wonder if the warriors who have been taking it easy all season long and are making the postseason with breaking a sweat are gonna repeat again.. especially with Wiggins coming back and Gary Payton getting back into ball shape..

I think most is attributed to heart and desire. NBA has literally turned into a give zero fucks league. Guys get their paper and see how many Gabe’s they can sit for load management. Players have other interests going on than just perfecting their craft. There’s no shame in blowing 25 point leads . Now B2B has become a thing. Everyone has it in their head back to back means trouble. I sure do miss the old days when players took pride in playing.
