Speaking of below average, onto the Kings.
You have to find the right game to back a team on a long losing streak. Given the above, this is the game.
But there major signs the Kings will break out tonight. Let's look at their last few games:
Last game: were cruising to win off a big third quarter against the Spurs AT San Antonio and gave it all up in the last quarter and lost by two with a game winner by G ay off the side of the rim.
That was a gutty performance off a back to back with the Mavs at Dallas for a team like this.
What happened in the Dallas game the night before?
Kings were cruising to a win off a big third quarter and again gave it up in the 4th and lost by 4.
The game prior to that they hung tough with the Grizz for 3Q's.
Prior to that, they lost to the lousy Jazz but covered the number.
So they are starting to pay us. They've covered 3 of 4 (jazz closed at -7.5 and that was a cover) and even in this recent 7 game losing streak they were game for the Nuggets and even went toe to toe with the Pacers on 1/25 several games ago, maybe the best team in the league and they needed OT to beat them.
It doesn't matter that Cousins might not play. I know Gray is brutal but he's been here long enough for this stretch win this game.
Is there hope for the Kings? Of course. Look at the money they are spending and the trades they are making. They aren't jettisoning stars and cheap bench players. Blueprints for a new arena was announced and they have something to look forward to.
This is "hope" vs. "diminishing hope" tonight even though one team is obviously better than the other.
The last thing the Bulls as gonna get up for is a game against the awful kings on the road.
The Kings? This streak has to end NOW at home and their 3 covers in the past 4 and a cover against the Pacers in the losing streak shows they will not only pay us, but have the motivation for a statement win tonight.
Remember when i gave the lakers out +7 to beat the Celtics while they were on a six game losing streak. They won outright. The spread did not matter.
Ok the line just came out: Bull -1.5.
Not sure if the squares will drive that to 2 or lower it to a pickum but it shouldn't get to the kings giving points.
Which means, with a statement win, there will be no spread to worry about covering. Time to get our money back.
The PICK:
KINGS +1.5 vs. Bulls (take it all the way to Kings -1 if it moves there).
