I have been working on an NBA betting system
that used statistical methodologies to pick winners. The model developed was
tested for 2013, 2014, and 2015 season. For these seasons, the strategies
developed yielded a win rate of 60-65% for three consistent years. So far for
2016, the record is 20-8 (71% win rate).
The model is based upon the concept of mean
reversion. NBA teams will not be playing in these extremes for consecutive
games and eventually revert back to their average. This is the most I will be
willing to provide on the model and will not repeat myself, mainly because I
know that users will ask questions based upon my previous thread.
I will be posting my picks shortly before
tip-off of each game. There will be times where there will be no picks in a day
and I will broadcast that shortly before 4pm PST. I do not suggest you parlay
any the picks, the whole concept of this is to maintain a 60-65% win rate over
150-200 games. This should yield a return on money wagered between 15% and 25%.
Keep your bets to straight bets. If you want use my picks and supplemental them with your knowledge, go for it.
I am a huge basketball fan. I have played and
coached the game, mind you nothing too serious, and understand the little
nuances about it. When I did pick up sports betting it was all based on
line-ups and match ups but it became discouraging when you hit bad slumps and
wiped out a good amount of your bankroll. You would begin to question your approach and everything. Therefore, I started developing a system that took the emotion out of it and that was shown to work consistently, almost eliminating the anxiety involved in this activity.
All I ask is please do not ask me questions for more detail on the model.
I have three picks today. Best of Luck to all.

The Cavs loss was a tough one to witness. Up by 13 with two minutes, you would think they would close the game up by 9 or 8. This was pretty much a one possession loss chalked up to luck. Can't complain. There will always be losers.
Overall Record:
Total: 22-9 (71%)
ATS: 19-4 (83%)
OU: 3-5 (38%)

Maybe we can share some formulas sometime! I have loads of NBA data logged by quarters. I was capping every quarter, half, and game, but it was too much work for one person to do everyday. So, I focus on 1st Quarters cause they have had the best variances to take advantage of. To calculate a spread, total, and score prediction, I use formulas for points scored for and against, overall record, away/home records, margin of victory, RPI, and some extra twists exclusively for totals. This type of analysis is new to me this season! It is helping, but I know that I need to learn more from it. The past couple seasons, I only analyzed teams on losing and winning streaks by qtr, half, & game, which turned out to be a waste of time cause I didn't have much of a feel of how the teams would perform. Since making the switch to calculating & capping, I am seeing much better results now. I'll be looking forward to your posts! Boston+2 for 1qtr is tonight's main play.

Just curious if your 20-8 plays we're posted before 1/6/16.
If so, where. Just curious.
My record is 53-5.
This is my first time posting my NBA picks. I had a thread on the MLB forums under a different username but I do not want to disclose the username, mainly because a simple search on google would disclose my identity.
For the other users making comments, I understand your skepticism on the record. I don't have anything to prove to you and I do not want to waste my time showing tickets. Keep track of my record going forward if you want but I will manage this thread based on my spreadsheet tracker. I expect my overall win rate to be between 60-65%, I do not think it is sustainable at this 71% rate.

When will we expect a twitter account and pay prescription?
By the way I'm 64-3 ATS. Of course that's not posted here
I would be lying if I said I did not have a plan to introduce a subscription but it will not be for this season. I do have a plan to introduce a plan for the next season if all works well, which the model has shown for three years when back tested. What is key is that you guys become comfortable with and trust me and the system.
Main reason for this is plain and simple... I am not a fan of the cubicle life. It wouldn't be on twitter. It would be in a formal manner. For the time being, lets focus on the present and us making money.

Spreader,
Look into something called SMF Addin, it is free. I assume you use Excel for all your data. SMF will allow you to pull data from websites anchored between table tags. I found out about this back in undergrad when I was building automated financial models. I now use it to pull team data off sites in order to automate my models.

You know I died and was resurrected three days later. This happened in 1975. 500 people were witnesses so it is documented in their testaments. Worship me. Follow all my picks and ask no questions.

What the poster said above me is true. I hang around multiple covers sections such as Tennis, Soccer and Ice Hockey. This one seems to be the one where people can't get along.
Enough about that though. I'm looking forward to see what you got Coach!
