What cracks me up is all the people who claim the NBA is rigged can't name a good reason why. What's in in for the NBA? What's in it for players? There's a massive conspiracy involving league execs, officials, coaches, and players.... all to beat you out of your $50 bet? You do realize that an oddsmaker's goal is to elicit even action on either side of a wager. That way they always eat off the juice. So it'd only be beneficial to fix a game from a booking house standpoint if said game was heavily loaded to one side. By this thinking every booking house in on the scam would have to have action come in on more or less the same split for this to work or else there would be conflicts of interest all of the time. So gambling can't be the reason. So why? For entertainment sake? This assumes that all you guys crying "script" have your finger on the pulse of what makes a good script. This is quite possible since you are all in LaLa Land but think about it. By making the statement alone you're saying, "This is what I think is a good story line so it must be what the league thinks is a good storyline...so it must be fixed. Was the Spurs winning 5 rings a good story line? Small market team, plays boring fundamental basketball, whose big star is the unassuming Tim Duncan.
Again, if it's all fixed, why? If you say for gambling sake then you know nothing about gambling. If you say for story's sake then you know nothing about stories.

And guys, these players are human. They have off days. They suck sometimes. Today's game with it's lack of structure and fundamentals is extremely streaky. A team can drop 40 is a quarter and go cold in the next and drop 20. If Drew Brees has a game where he throws 4 picks nobody will say it's fixed but let some former D-leaguer miss 2 free throws and dudes will be in this very forum screaming, "That jig is point shaving!" How did Bill Belichick, one of the greatest defensive minds in NFL history, coach a team that gave up 41 points in the Super Bowl? Must've been fixed, right?

Pro sports leagues are a multi billion dollar business.  Meaning the owners and commissioner are controlling most if not every aspect including which teams are able to build super teams (see the CP3 to Lakers trade veto) and which teams make it to the Finals-you really think it's a coincidence only 2 teams account for almost 50% of championship wins in NBA history? 

I'm pretty sure if it is rigged, they have some contractual loophole which says they aren't required to put out a fair and 100% competitive 'product' just like the NFL isn't which says it's purely for entertainment.

The only aspect of the game that I think could be somewhat rigged is the Reffing in some spots, ex the Denver Minnesota game, but in no way can a refs involvement 100% determine one way or the other the outcome of the game

Yea, I do think there is some rigging via the refs but I think the notion that there's some massive conspiracy involving the players is absolutely crazy.
I mean, a guy loses a $20 bet and comes in here saying stuff like, "Did you see so and so laughing at the end of the game? He was in on it."

NFL is less rigged, that’s why we see more faves covered last season, soccer is the no 1 rigged sport , NBA is second...I’m living in hongkong, you know how much money these Chinese people betting on NBA each game....they just love betting nba and soccer, of course I’m not saying every game is rigged , bookie will let public win for sure.....

Again, for this to work, every bookie would have to take in action at a similar split, and be heavily loaded to one side. Bookies want even action on either side. Being a bookie is a marathon, not a sprint. When you make comments like this it shows you know nothing.

the history of NBA officiating has always favored the home team getting the crucial calls when the game is on the line late in the 4th Q...this game simply held to the long standing decade upon decade upon decade trend...to call it rigged or fixed is naïve and exposes people here as lifetime losing sports gamblers and degenerates looking for any possible excuse to deflect away the fact that they are losing money betting on this.

Loserforever, (fitting name) where did i say the nba has integrity? Of course teams intentionally lose. The warriors didn't want to play the jazz or thunder in round 1 so they threw the game. If you actually watched the game you'd understand how the score got so out of control. There's a huge difference between losing intentionally and rigging a game though. Until you understand the difference there's no point in debating with you

not true at all how a moron would only continue to wager on the sport if they truly believe it is manipulated, what if this moron enjoys the entertainment/show, is addicted to sportsbetting, shows a profit because he has an edge from understanding how certain games may be manipulated.

First game of day factor, Primetime espn/tnt games factor, last game of day where everyone who loss that day is chasing factor.

how can you not say 2016 finals cavs gs was not rigged? im a lbj  fan and can firmly say it was rigged

All you need to do is go and watch some Youtube videos of the Fakers/Queens back in the early 2000's and see how the ref's can influence the game by calling bogus phantom fouls...

Tim Duncan getting ejected by Joey Crawford vs the Mavs is clearly a Fixed game by the refs....He gets called for a phantom offensive foul while posting up and making a move to the basket and didn't even use his arms to push off...Then minutes later get's 2 T's from Joey Crawford on the bench...for smiling and laughing and throwing his hands up in the air and clapping...

Refs are employed by the league....refs can dictate a game all by themselves. Hmmmmm.....2+2 should equal 4, correct? I won’t even get into lebron. That guy knows every situation of every game. I love watching him constantly look up at the scoreboard dissecting what needs to be done in certain situations. I love the acting he does in press conferences that literally always the public in their every move. They don’t call him the chosen one for nothing. Remember Steph Curry throwing the mouth guard in the finals and swearing yet if you look close, he tries not to smile as he does it? He’s just not as good of an actor as Lebron. What about Lillard the other nite against Denver? Ya know....a must game for Denver and not really much of a meaningful game for Portland. He missed 4 or 5 free throws? A 92% free throw shooter. Probability of that happening? You do the math on a guy that misses 8 out of 100 yet that nite he missed 4 or 5 out of 10? Reminds me of two years ago in the super bowl. A probability of less than a half percent with the patriots coming back. Watch the game and see the distinct change in play calling on ATLANTAS side. What about the Pats jumping a route in the one yard line late in the super bowl two years prior. Yeah....coincidence. Yeah a coach is gonna have a brain fart in deciding to throw there rather than running the ball three times on the one with beast mode. No hidden agendas there right? Are these instances factual evidence? Nope but if you can’t see what’s going on in those, can’t help ya. Sorry. Are these only a few times? Sure but the interesting part here for those who think the non purists are nuts, some of us called these before the game when we placed our bets. What about Mexico City two years ago where the Texans got totally screwed on the spot and on replay when everyone saw with their own eyes the right calls were blown on purpose? Remember when they measured the ball with their bwcks to the tv viewer? Wonder why....still the only time I’ve ever seen that before in my life. What about the notecard scenario this last year with gene the ref?! The dude used a notecard folks. A notecard. want me to keep going? I won’t. Again, these are billion dollar a year cash cows and to think that every single play of every single game in the history of sport is pure? Really?! Ok I’m done wasting my time here. I’m just pissing in the wind. I’ll de damned though if some flash in the pan capper is gonna come in here and start putting people in their places with no evidence to support his game calling.
