@Qwan61
Thanks. Finally someone that gets it (mathematically).
@Dynasty4
To start: It's not just 1Q.
TL DR: The Quarter Method is a 4-legged martingale wagering on NBA quarters (1st Quarter -- pre game wager, then 2Q, 3Q, and 4Q are live wagers). Max loss is 20 units. Max gain is 1 unit. Current record is 22-0.
The way I pick is based on team performances and their ability to cover quarters based on ATS odds. If a team has a bad record of covering, then the system doesn't consider them as a pick. The system also takes into consideration power rankings based on them being Home or Away. It also takes into consideration their fatigue factor. Teams that are on a back-to-back, 3rd game in 4 nights, 5th game in 7 nights or a combination of these factors will almost always forego a quarter. These are things that the system calculates automatically. It also doesn't over extend by taking picks with odds worse than -1. These are all factors that protect us and allow us to navigate safely even when a martingale is a theoretically "dangerous" strategy.

Lol again it's rare for a team to lose all 4 quarters. No lie when froggy post up exact quarter bets hes pretty damn good. But this method..losing 1q then keep chasing isnt ideal for anyone. Depending on books, Some set live bets or quarters low. Or have none at all. No team today lost all 4 quarters smh. Sorry man i like ur stuff at first froggy but realize it's a chasing game .

Yesterday is a perfect example of how things can go awry. Indiana Pacers and New Orleans Pelicans both got swept.
Anyways... we have 2 picks on the deck for tonight.
Quarter Method Pick (current record: Undefeated with 20-something wins )
Charlotte Hornets 1Q pk
Toronto Raptors 1Q -0.5

BOL to all who chooses to tail.

I'm not following the thread or system, just perusing various threads this morning, I might be off on your qualifying parameters, but, Indy 32-31 Q4, no?
(Just making this note to you in case you're keeping a tracking database.)

Got it.
I was an oddsmaker for years, I understand live lines, I just missed that "live" part of your system (not following closely, just as as said "perusing"), and didn't factor in the updated/current line.
Good luck going forward. . .

@VeritasAlways
I figured out the live lines through a formula that I developed (basically through observation). I'd love to pick your brain to see if my formula makes sense.
I take the 1Q line and add or subtract points based on the point difference at the end of each quarter.
If point difference is greater than 29.5 points then I add/subtract 4.5 from the line
If point difference is greater than 24.5 points and less than 29.5 points then add/subtract 4.0 from the line
If point difference is greater than 20.5 points and less than 24.5 points then add/subtract 3.5 from the line
If point difference is greater than 16.5 points and less than 20.5 points then add/subtract 3.0 from the line
If point difference is greater than 12.5 points and less than 16.5 points then add/subtract 2.5 from the line
If point difference is greater than 10.5 points and less than 12.5 points then add/subtract 2.0 from the line
If point difference is greater than 7.5 points and less than 10.5 points then add/subtract 1.5 from the line
If point difference is greater than 4.5 points and less than 7.5 points then add/subtract 1.0 from the line
If point difference is greater than 2.5 points and less than 4.5 points then add/subtract 0.5 from the line
Else odds remain equal to 1Q lines.

@Froggy80
I just stumbled by the NBA site after focusing solely on tourney. Saw you. Thought damn the last NBA game already started. Then saw your Toronto 1q pick was still on the board!!
