Hi guys- been quite for the last couple months because my wife has switched jobs and I have been spending a ton of time with my 1 year old as a result. It's been a decent year for me- I've had two cold streaks and came back pretty strong from the last one. Ended up in the positive for the year but not nearly as much as I would have liked. Haven't bet much over the past 6 weeks, but I have a good feel for the playoffs I believe. Units are $50- got 40 of them to play with. Let's have a profitable playoffs!
Futures:
Cleveland to win it all- +185- 6 units
LA Lakers to win it all- +145- 6 units
Honestly, both of these teams will probably be in the Finals and I would say that the chances of anyone other than these two teams winning it all are less than 10%. Boston will miss Garnett. The rest of the West isn't strong enough to battle LA in a series. I think this is the Finals matchup the league is drooling over, so I look forward to these two hooking up in June and getting positive returns on these futures regardless of the outcome.
Detroit +2200- to win series- 1 unit- What the hell, I'll try it. Terrible year for my Pistons, but a lot of things can happen. They have played Cleveland real tough this year in a couple games, even leading going into the 4th quarter. Is Lebron protected from ever having a big injury??? I've seen it before....worth a shot. They are playoff-tested and won't be wide-eyed. May steal one early...
Weekend games:
Chicago +9- 3 units- Too many points for the Young Bulls here. Gordon will have a big game and Chicago keeps this close. Boston's D is hurting without the Ticket.
Detroit +12- 3 units- Linesmakers expecting a huge blowout, eh? Well, it wouldn't surprise me I guess. However I also see a low-scoring tighter game than this. Detroit should stay within single digits.
Portland-4- 2 units- Playoff starved fans should show up in force for this one. Houston is a tough road team but I think the Blazers will be ready for this one. Good solid team here in Portland. They have a couple big bodies in Prizz and Oden that can frustrate Yao some with their length.
Philly +10- 2 units- Once again I think this is too many points. Orlando hasn't impressed me at all for the last couple weeks. Dre Miller has an advantage here and will keep this one close for the Sixers.
Mia/Atl under 186.5- 4 units- My favorite bet of the opening weekend. I have this capped at 179-180 max. I look for one of the teams to scrape 90 and the other mid 80's. Look for low possessions and a halfcourt game here with dug-in defenses. This line is way too high.
All so far. Good luck guys. Let's get this .

Does this remind anyone of their 2006 playoffs matchup, but just in reverse? I wish I could buy a better memory, or have the energy to research it at 6:30AM, BUT I believe Cleveland was a 12 point dog in Game 1 of that series.
I took them, and they got clocked, 113-86! Ouch. Then they were double digit dogs again in Game 2, and put in a solid performance, but still wound up losing 97-91.
I am contemplating a series bet on the Pistons AFTER Game 1, and betting the Pistons Game 2 + the points.
Does anyone else have these feelings? Anyone? No? Okay. Didn't think so.

Was an initial lean and I just made the final wager after doing the numbers. I also have this around the 180 mark.

I disagree with this. I like the C's to cover 8.5 and i like the under 196.5 for large. I dont see this hitting 190

Well, I'm even so far going 2-2 and losing the juice. The Miami under is looking fairly decent right now- which I would take for some profits after the opening weekend. Be back tomorrow as the Bulls look to be getting a ton of points again. Desperation time for Celts I think??? Baby Bulls ROLLING in confidence right now. Oh yeah, the Magic are STILL charmin-soft.

Spurs -3- 1st half- 2 units- Do or die time for the Spurs. The light is dimming for this proud team. Look for a frantic effort from Parker and Duncan right out of the gate as they look to salvage a split at home. I think the Spurs will be leading by 6-10 pts. after the 1st half.
Lean to the Bulls/Celts 1st half over also, but will hold off for now.

IDK what you buy into this but...

I see it going over in the first half, but not by much AC. Pierce and Gordon aren't going to start so slowly this time. Allen....now he's a different story.
