Does this strategy only apply to Lakers home games? What happens if they lose by more than 5 points in game 1?

I made a nice chunk thanks to this post . I had a ton on Heat which turned out to be a push but I do have them on a teaser w Boston -1.5 today . Can’t see Boston losing this at home plus Doc Rivers blows. Tampa and Braves in mlb today Fritz Taylor in tennis Large

No, it doesn't, but if the Lakers lose Game 1 by more than 5 points, I won't be interested in betting against the Nuggets when they're at home.

and that is the exact scenario tonight.
and that is the exact scenario tonight.
The Lakers are now a perfect 12-0 SU & ATS since January 25th after losing a game by more than 5 points. The trend is again active tonight.....and I am betting against it. Only 4 of those 12 games were won by the Lakers on the road and none have occurred in April or May. I am much more impressed by what the Lakers have been able to do at home, particularly in these playoffs, where they've covered those four home wins by an incredible average of 21.6 points. Tonight, however, they find themselves in the worst possible place, Ball Arena, which under a previous name was the home to Nuggets teams who were always pretenders.
I've said in other threads prior to today that the Nuggets with Nikola Jokic available have not lost a home game that they really wanted or needed to win in more than five months! Let's take a look at the home games the Nuggets did lose over that time period.
Way back on December 6th, the Nuggets lost a Tuesday night home game on TNT to the Mavs, 116-115. That loss dropped them to 14-10, a poor start to the season due in part to being without Michael Porter, Jr. for twelve games because of a heel injury.
The Nuggets then began an incredible 3-month stretch in which they went 32-9, including 24-1 at home. The only loss happened on January 22nd when they lost 101-99 to the Thunder. The Nuggets were without Jokic and Porter, Jr. that night.
On March 8th, the 32-9 stretch finally came to an end with an all-around dud of a performance at home against the Bulls which the Nuggets lost 117-96. But by this time the Nuggets' lead over the second place Grizzlies had ballooned to a season-high 7.5 games, so this loss simply didn't matter.
Neither did the home loss they suffered just four days later on March 12th when the red-hot Nets, in the middle of a 6-0 ATS streak at the time, visited Denver on a Sunday afternoon and won 122-120.
With only 7 games left in the regular season and the #1 seed locked up, the Nuggets again played at home without Jokic and lost another dud, 107-88 to the Pelicans on March 30th.
And that's it. Four home losses since December 6th, two without Jokic and two that didn't matter against teams who aren't rivals. The other 35 home games have all been victories. The point I'm making is that the Nuggets are unbeatable at home over the last FIVE plus months when Jokic is healthy and the team is motivated. Not unbeatable over the last five weeks, but over the last five months. Does the Lakers +180 seem like a sufficiently appealing price just because the Lakers need a split, lol?
I've insisted since before the playoffs began that no Western conference team was going into Denver and winning a game so long as Nikola Jokic is standing on two feet. So far the Nuggets are 7-0 and 6-1 ATS at home in the first three rounds, and yes I'm giving them credit for a Game 1 cover because -5 was widely available on Friday and Saturday and -5.5 was widely available on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday morning.

The Lakers are now 8-2 SU & 9-1 ATS since the All-Star break when playing with at least 2 days rest. Yes, I am giving them credit as well for a Game 1 cover since +6.5 was widely available on Tuesday and there was even +7 late at some sportsbooks. But, they don't have that rest going into tonight's game now will they benefit from it for the rest of the series. I respect this Lakers team a lot. I'm not betting against them because I think this will be easy for the Nuggets nor because I think the Lakers won't try their best. I expect a strong effort, but I don't expect it to be enough after the Lakers' Big Two both played 40+ minutes two nights ago. The Nuggets, even after winning every home game in these playoffs, are still not respected nor feared by the betting public the way they ought to be, and because of that, I feel this line is too low.
I bet on the Nuggets in the 1st quarter and 1st half of Game 1, but I'm not doing that tonight. I expect the Lakers have learned their lesson and will be steeled up from the start. This time, though, with a much closer first half being played, I expect the Nuggets to maintain their intensity and concentration throughout the second half, two things they were unable to do on Tuesday after submitting an offensive basketball clinic in the first half. I am on the Nuggets -5 -110 and will likely bet on them again at halftime if they are leading by 10 points or less. And if they're losing at halftime, I will freakin' unload because the Nuggets are a perfect 8-0 SU & ATS at home in the 2nd halves with Jokic when they're losing at halftime since that 116-115 loss to the Mavs way back on December 6th. And that was a collection of eight 2nd half blowouts.
