I have a formula that I created using: HomeAway ,Season, and Last 5/10 Records and Margins that gave me solid predictions for many games since late March in the season. I use that combined with any media news, injury reports, and playoff situations that may arise. I rocked a 4 game parlay due to it which paid out $550+ for a $15 dollar bet.
I'm up consistently 300%-400% on my bankroll starting with a $400 deposit in February.
That's pretty cool, your able to make a formula. Are you a math or stats guru? Can you teach me how to create one?

Actually NBA you have just brought up a great point. I wonder how many people find they start losing more after they post on Covers. Just being exposed to all these opinions and perspectives, it's hard not to take some of it into account. I've seen people change their minds based on what others think. While it is a good thing to share knowledge, it is not good to blindly bet into knowledge without at least finding the real TRUTH in it.
Everything in this forum is opinionated in some way or another. I just find it important never to neglect the other side of the argument because thinking one-sided is never a winning strategy.
AGREE ON ALL

Right on - just remember no system is ever 100% otherwise everybody would be exploiting it. As long as you don't get over-confident playing bets that fall under your system and keep your head clear of distractions, you'll be fine.

Actually I probably make a lot of people money, the good folks at Sportsbook.com work hard over there.
Interesting and obvious point that sometimes flies over the head- If you aren't making money your bookie is; and if you can't reverse that after a certain point you should probably just give up.
Betting isn't for everybody. Someone mentioned in this thread before they have bet for over 10 years and haven't had a single winning year and lose on a regular basis. The "high" of gambling is what many are going after; not necessarily thinking logically to increase their bankroll.

Mikado, my opinion is that 19 out of 20 people that bet on a consistent basis lose over the long run. I have told this story before ... i was golfing with a older guy, i knew he was a big time book back in his day (he almost went to the clink on federal charges and "stopped"). this is a guy that had 2 offices loaded with telephones and 2500 consistent guys. this is what he said ... "detox, in all my years taking action i had one guy end up on the plus side of me. he wasn't a big gambler either. he was happy making 700 a week off of me and never pushed his luck. of course i had a bunch that hit me quick and stopped ... but for my consistent guys, only one was up on me out of a lot of guys over the long run."
it's an entertaining hobby.

Sounds about right... I've heard from over the years it's roughly only 5% that can stay above the 53% mark and consistently win.
This year I recorded my picks on Covers so nobody can say I'm BSing them anymore. I placed 72nd of over 15,000 in the basketball contest this year. Could've possibly done better had I actually updated it regularly with everything I've played this season.

an entertaining hobby that cost me my ass last night.
Lost my ass too, felt pretty confident in a Game 7 happening - the Over 93.5 also killed my at half
However the Dallas +2200 to win the title from the preseason makes up for it. Always wish I had put down more on those bets... but I'll take what I can get out of it.
