It was all an elaborate reverse jinx. His work was done. The Warriors won. He went back to his normal life. He did the same thing during the Warriors' previous runs, only under a different name. BB figured out who he was. Once he pointed it out to me, I couldn't see how I missed it. It was pretty obvious who it was.

If you notice, he went from saying he was backing the Celtics because he has underworld inside knowledge only to switch to going on and on about how the Celtics were so much bigger, and faster, and stronger, and younger, and blah, blah, blah. That was the dead give away for me.
