Finally some sanity

Its just like when a couple years ago people kept tryng to compare peyton and brady. They just arent close in any way.

Not making an argument one way or another, but MJ would not have won this series with LeBron's supporting cast -- FACT

 

LeBron couldnt do it with two SUPERSTARS on his team twice and it shoulve been three times if Ray Allen doesnt bail his a** in game 6.

But that's history.

Can't argue with you there.

But I think LeBron's first finals loss shouldn't even be counted. He was like 22 years old or something with one of the worst supporting casts in finals history (backed by statistics). In fact, I think his ability to lead a team to the finals at such a young age should actually IMPROVE his legacy, not tarnish it.

This year the only difference is he was older and better, but his supporting cast still sucked once Love and Irving were out. You'd have to be a blind, stubborn fool to argue any differently.

And yes he's lost with superstars before - I can't deny that. But let's not compare finals records without context. And very realistically LeBron will probably make the finals over the next several years and add anywhere between 1-3 more rings.

On a side note, I am a Kobe fan so no LeBron bias here..

That's fair.

But let's also be fair to Jordan.  He played for one team, and never got a chance to choose his friends to play with.  LeBron got to choose Bosh and Wade, that's 3 all-stars and they still couldn't win it last year.

It's going to take free agency for LeBron to win another championship.  Nobody ever would say that about Jordan.

The 95-96 Bulls went 72-10.  Went 16-3 in the playoffs.  2 of the losses were after being up 3-0 in the Finals at Seattle.

They lost Horace Grant so they traded Will Perdue and cash considerations for Rodman.

People forget just how great Jordan was.  It was an honor to be alive when he was around.

It was kind of like Tiger Woods in his prime.  He was the best, and everybody knew it.  He did magical stuff, like Jordan.  It was sad to see what happened to Tiger at the US Open today.

It's like someone said.  Kobe's a poor man's version of Jordan.  Kind of like glimpses of Jordan.

In Kobe's prime he had a little bit of that magic.

LeBron also has a little bit of that magic.

But the true magician was Michael Jordan.

LeBron just signed Lebron as the new Head Coach of the Cavs...

He was so good, it got almost boring in that you expected the Bulls to win every time out.

Despite dominating, nobody hated Jordan.  Black leaders would ask him to join the "cause" but he never did.  He never screamed racism or any of that bs. 

He was a real treasure back in the day.

Those days are long gone and over.

That said, LeBron has a little bit of Jordan in him, in that he's a  likeable guy.

He simply isn't a good shooter.....A huge flaw in his game.....Game (6) he was (4-19) outside the paint ........

Through the finals he shot Under 30% from outside the paint......Great scorer, terrible shooter.........Big flaw in his game.......

 

totally agree with what you said, if it wasn't for his dad dying and his easy way in the nba he would have won 8 straight.  he stopped himself

let me ask something-if he was as belittling and impossible to deal with as you said, i imagine his teams and coaches would have bailed on him.  But he made his TEAM better.

If you remember back in the day, the attention on Jordan was white hot.  He was "the man".  I'm sure you remember it's not like LeBron these days-everybody knows LeBron is the best player, but Jordan was IT, until somebody could stop the Bulls.  And man did they want to beat his *ss.  Even to this DAY, 20+ years later, if Jordan shows up somewhere, people will take notice.  LeBron 20 years from now?  Come on.

I remember Sean Kemp as a serial philanderer-never amounted to anything other than a bunch of kids out of wedlock.  Every time I saw that guy, I thought about it.  A lot of these guys are in it for themselves.

I read Jordan donated to Obama.  I'm not a fan of that.  I'm not a dem or rep.  I look at these guys as a meal ticket, something to go to the window with-I don't have a favorite "team".  Politicans lie from the moment they open their mouths-it's how they win-people will never vote for honest politicians.

Most of these players make millions and they're broke, and a lot of them are crippled (football).  We all know those stories.  Mike Tyson made hundreds of millions and went bankrupt before he finished boxing.  Didn't happen to Jordan.  I don't think it will happen to LeBron.

If you remember back the day, "it's gotta be the shoes" with Mars Blackmon.  Even to this DAY people buy Jordans.

He was the baddest dude on the planet.  In more ways than one, obviously

I'll also remember the look in the dude's eyes.  Chewing his gum or just a cool but intensely competitive aware look in hazel eyes

With LeBron, you'll see all kinds of emotions.  From excited to satisfied to disappointed to bored.

And again man did other teams want to beat that behind...

Speaking of bored I guess it's the football offseason (and basketball now) so a good time to reminisce

Other than the gambling issue; sure sounds like your describing  the moral structure of Tiger Woods.

Found this on another site and liked it....  

His other one was at home game 7 where Ginobli clearly got fouled going in for a layup.  Spurs would have won the championship.
