I believe that his body is going to break down and he won't make it through the entire season.  I also watched him some in the preseason and he looked like he didn't have much lift on his jump shot and he was hitting the front of the rim often on his jumpers.

thx for your take and opinions @ kevmode # I tend to lean to actually agreeing with you but only time will tell. Kobe is still going to have to carry a lot of the offensive load especially starting the season without swaggy P, who is the second best player at creating his own shot. That scares me for Kobes sake cause im not sure at 36 yoa that his body will hold up for 82 games shouldering the lakers scoring load. If the lakers had more offensive firepower I would be prone to disagree with you but I agree with that take # its going to be a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong season for the Bryron Scott and the Lakers

People don't want to play with Kobe because no matter if he's the second or third best on the team he will take the most shots and want the ball in his hands with the game on the line. One of the most clutch players of all time but if he seriously thinks he deserves the ball over LeBron Durant or melo something is wrong. I think they all know there'd be a fight for the ball as opposed to playing with LeBron who averages more assists than most point guards.

according to kobe, he hasn't felt this good in 3-4 seasons.... clearly he is going to be relied upon to do a lot this season with the roster the lakers have... but there is nobody in the league right now that has evolved his game over the years like Kobe has.... he has transcended nearly three generations of basketball and he will continue to impress because the he feeds off all the naysayers and the critics who say he's not on the top players in the league anymore

I took a flyer in my fantasy league and drafted Kobe with my fourth round pick. I think there will be plenty of minutes for him and he is chasing history. He will take a lot of shots as he has always done in his career and I think he will get lots of free throws. He is no longer the defensive force he once was so hopefully he will stay fresh from an offensive standpoint. 
His ending is sad and I'm curious to what he will do the remainder of his career. He surely cannot command this type of money as it's not commensurate with his abilities. I'm also not sure how hell fare as a role player.,can he accept being like a Vince Carter type? Will he bounce around chasing rings?

PPG 22.5 -   fg% 41  -  3pt% 31.3 -  ft% 82 - 4rebs/game - 4.5 assts/game - 3.5 turnovers/game - 1.25 steals per game

Game 1 Kobe recap # Grade C+

# thoughts # Kobe looked quick and his legs look good. I didn't think he would be able to get his shot off so easy coming off the Achilles injury. He missed some decent looks going 6/17 but he could of easily went 8 or 9 for 17. Defensively he was very lazy on closing out on ariza who hit 5 threes tonite. Kobe has to have more than 2 assts for the Lakers to stay competitive in any game. I like the fact he got the line 8 times and he was able to get by ariza a ouple of times. I didn't see that quickness in the preseason. Kobe only had 1 turnover which is great for him. 3 rebs is not good as he needs to be more active on the glass due to the Lakers being a terrible rebounding team especially defensively. He would of definitely scored more points if this game wasn't such a lopsided affair. All and all I like what I see from the Mamba but its going to be a very looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong season # Grade C+

I agree kobe didn't play great but he looked quick and spree and only 1 turnover that's why I boost it to a C+. If he didn't shoot so poorly he would of gotten a B easily @kevmode I can see why you gave him a C- though but I just don't look at number Kobe legs look good tonite # that's important

Kobe tonite @ Phx Game 2 # Grade D+

reasons and analysis along with his numbers tonite. I know a lot of you will be shocked with the D+ grade but after you here my reasoning and analysis I might sway some of you 2 agree with me.

28 minutes - 31 pts - 11/25fg - 2/4 3pt land - 7-7 fts - 4rbs - 3 assts - 2 steals - 0 blk - 2 turnovers -  2 personal fouls - +/-  -26

# My main reasons for giving Kobe such a bad grade on a nite he had 31 pts in 28 minutes is strictly due to the defensive side of his game tonite. Bean was God awful defensively tonite and IMO it was one of his worst defensive games ive seen him play his entire career. Kobe was lazy on closeouts, he gambled way too much and he leaked out before the lakers got defensive rebs. dragic and Bledsoe blew by him on numerous occasions and his weakside rotation was slow and casual all game long. Basketball is played on both sides of the floor Offensively I gave him a B- Defensively he got a F-. Kobe still can get his shot off and can still get 30 + but his efficiency once again is hurting his grade when I evaluate him. Please somebody let me know when Kobe shoots 50% or better from the field this year "im waiting". Don't really have a problem with the 3 assts cause his teammates missed 5 good looks that could be potential assts for Kobe tonite

cont the funny thing about tonites game is Kobe might win the scoring title this year and the Lakers might only win 15 games # damn shame # I know a lot of kobe lovers will defend him tonite and give him a better grade but I will warn them to just watch kobe on defense last nite and trust me they will be STH and will agree he stunk tonite defensively. All that being said Kobe is still very dangerous offensively and coming off a Achilles tear at 36 in his 19 th year its absolutely amazing to see him put up 31 pts in a game that is the second of back to back # Kobe is in my top 10 of all time NBA players and in my top 3 of all time NBA scorers # 1. Missed the game tying 3 late that was rushed because the clock was dying down. They showed a little clip of Kobe about to check in the game and Byron Scott telling him he needs to shoot more. Kobe probably hasn't heard that too many times in his career.

Kobe's game 3 stats recap and final grade

#Kobe had his best overall game so far this season not by the numbers but by impact and defensive activitiy. Loved his defense tonite he was active contesting shots and guarded Cp3 down the stretch holding him in check. Offensively for the first 3 quarters his game was flowing like milk and honey. He was finding teammates and attacking the rim with that mamba venom. Kobe had 7 assts tonite his most by far in the first 3 games. He did a great job in the first 3 quarters of finding teammates and attacking his defender with a multiplicity of sweet moves, reverses and that dunk  baseline was nasty over Matt Barnes. Then the 4th quarter happened kobe really struggled 1-7 shooting and he had a couple turnovers.  He didnt close like how young kobe would close but all in all he had good looks down the stretch he just missed. He looked a bit fatigued also but he was also locking up paul too. OVERALL GRADE B-
