Kawhi Leonard has informed LeBron James that he intends to sign with Lakers this summer. Both Anthony Davis & LeBron James have pitched Kawhi Leonard to join Lakers for a couple of days now. Leonard will still meet with Clippers & Raptors out of respect but he’s set on Lakers.

The media has spun this story so many ways its humorous at this point. I honestly think there's no chance Kawhi is going to the Lakers and not just cause I don't want him to play there cause that would suck for the NBA. Stephen A is an idiot of course you can say Kawhi is "seriously considering Lakers" he's having a meeting with them but this dude will say anything for views. It's Raps or Clippers and I think Clippers because he's from So Cal, it's not all big stars big egos like Lakeshow, great management and team and coach for Clips, and he has nothing to prove in Toronto anymore he brought that city a ship and they knew what they were getting last year when they signed him and he delivered, and Kawhi's been doing what he wants now for a few years and I don't expect that to change. If he hasnt already signed with Toronto after theyve been wining and dining him, and he's still meeting with other teams idk I just feel like he's gone and the Clippers are kind of a perfect situation for him.

Most people are overlooking the financial advantage Kawhi stands to gain by resigning with the Raps for a 1+1...after next season, he qualifies for the 10yr veteran contract % bump...that equates to approx an extra 5mil per season on future contract...by signing a 1+1 with Toronto, he will have every right to go to the Clippers after next season and sign his lottery ticket...all the while knowing hes got a legit shot at winning another title with the Raps in an eastern conference where they are the team to beat.

Heres another point in favor of staying with Toronto for one more year - New Balance...his shoe deal seemed so bizarre when he signed with them...but now look at what its turned into - literally all of Canada is going to be wearing a pair of NB by this time in 2020 if Kawhi stays for just one more year...plus he now has a clothing line in the works and will sell the $hit out of his newly found "fun guy" moniker...hes an assassin and knows where he will kill it the best...Toronto for one more year, then Ujiri sends him off to LA where he will enjoy all the riches one could ever dream of playing in his home state.

Also, Kawhi is taking the Clippers meeting for data...this will be important for him to know how the Clips handle themselves for future reference.
