If you want to use stupid facts from the regular season, again where Pau was not on the Lakers, you can say boston got beat by Denver and Utah, who the Lakers swept and beat Utah pretty good as well. Its tough to base the playoffs let alone the NBA championships on regular season games. I hate when ESPN goes into that whole thing about every series because it hardly ever holds true for the playoffs. Just take the Celtics vs Atlanta, they beat them pretty good during the regular season, yet Atlanta pushed them to 7 games in the playoffs. Just think its two different things to compare regular season to the playoffs

k lets look at some more stupid facts...general facts.
Celtics have homecourt in this series...they are 45-7 at home. 86% winning percentage.
Celtics crushed the Lakers twice this season..oh yeah that doesn't matter, cuz the tall skinny gasol with his 18 points and 8 boards wasn't on the team...yet the teams future at center, bynum was playing...these things don't matter just like when they played detroit and they were 2-1 against them with a double digit road win and low and behold, they won 2 of 3 @ detroit and closed them out.
Celtics are 78-24 this season....are you guys kidding me with your "LAKERS IN 5 OR 6 B.S??? the Lakers had more losses in the regular season then the Celtics have this moment, and Boston hasn't even played nearly to their potential in the postseason yet....and now they are home getting ready with a nice rest, which will put these two teams on an even playing field physically.
The Celtics play way better Defense then L.A....If anyone can seriously argue that you need counseling....and why is everyone so jazzed up about the Laker Bench?? where is this glaring advantage for the Lakers?? the Celtics have Posey, Brown, Powe, House and Cassell who can all contribute on any night...the Celtics go 8 to 10 guys deep most games...I actually think the Celts have a great Bench, and i'm not even mentioning "Big Baby" who at home games when he comes in the crowd loves it...
This series can go either way...but to me HOMECOURT is huge...even if the Celts lose three out of the first five games in the series they can still come home for good and try to close them out with two and a row @ home...with a 45-7 home record, I don't think thats a scenario you can discount....it will most likely go 7 games its going to be a battle.

Well noted things Robbie, I just think that Kobe and the way he has his team playing is on another level of anyone that the Celtics have played against. The Celtics won 2 games at Detroit, but I have thought all year that this Pistons team is getting old, and that Flip Saunders just isn't a good coach. Along with Billups being hurt and Rip hurting his arm, things just fell right for the Celtics, althought I think without those things Boston would've still won.
As for the Celtics bench, Sam I Am has not done anything for a few years now. Powe is solid but gets no minutes. Eddie House went from making jump shots to trying to play good defense. Its going to be tough for Doc to play his bench a lot and when he does its going to be interesting to see which combinations he does use. If he goes deep stretches with his bench in there, I think it will be trouble for the Celtics. Again I think this is going to be a very entertaining NBA Finals with a lot of different outcomes that will be determined by the coaches decisions. Advantage Lakers.

I think if Ray Allen has a good series and Doc stops all his "experiments" with his bench and just sticks to an 8 man rotation the Celts have a good shot...but they have to protect home floor...if they don't that "lakers in 5" theory may become a reality...i'm pumped for this series either way....what really sucks though is every game is at 9pm and there is not one game scheduled for a friday or saturday night....unreal we'll be up until 12:30am at least here on the east coast on work nights watching this shit....then your so worked up after you can't get to sleep until 3am.

seahawks get bent you lying sack of sh*t. you said cleveland would beat the celtics cause they couldn't win on the road. then you said detroit would beat the celtics. now your'e saying the lakers will beat the celtics. if anyone on here wants to win money just bet the c's for the series cause seahawks is the best fade on covers right now
ps i'll see you after the c's have the championship and this thread of yours will slip from your memory and you'll claim that you had the c's to win just like you're saying about cleveland and detroit now. grow some balls and say you're dumb and have no clue who will win this series
I NEVER ONCE said Cle would beat Bos in the series. All of my posts are on here. Do a search and paste on this thread where I said that. I'll be waiting.
Once again, get your facts straight before you post bullshit.

Yeah kind of weird that the games in Boston are even set at a 9 pm start. Us east coast folks will definately be up watching the games late though. I know I'm not going to miss them. Very excited for this series though. To see the chess match between coaches and teams after whatever happens in game one will be very interesting as well.

I understand your argument and as I posted previously the Celtics did well, even better than the Lakers, vs the Western Conference. I made a mistake once by ignoring head to head games and it cost me dearly. The bet itself was the Pats -3.5 for 31k. Its listed in my Superbowl thread. I ignored the fact that the Giants played them extremely tough in their regular season game. I learned a very valuable lesson from that mistake: never under estimate head-to-head performances between two teams in a season. Granted Gasol didn't play but Bynum did. If Bynum was playing in this series I would probably alter my bet but I think the Celtics having home court plus a very good team gets them the Championship this year. I know you like the Lakers and I wish you good luck with your bet

No way on earth can you compare the NBA to the NFL. NFL they got a whole week to prepare for teams, especially if a team plays you tough one time, you will have time to be ready for them the next time you play. Only 16 games in the season and they play once a week. NBA they play every other night almost and sometimes 3-4 nights in a row. Thats why you can't factor in the regular season into the playoffs. Just can't do it. NBA regular season sometimes can just depend on catching a team at the end of a road trip, or first game home after a long road trip. Timing has a lot to do with it and that is not the case in the NFL.

Doc Rivers,Sam Cassell and no true point guard, these are the reasons Boston wont win.
Wish they would but Rivers will make the Difference with bad calls and bench players in at wrong times.
Cant wait to see how many FTs Boston shoots over how few LAL shoot to try to get a 7 game series, lol
true point guard r u joking? or was that series cause sam cassell is a VETERAN and rando has proven himself over and over again. I'm Pretty sure it was Ray allen who said they lost their one of their away games because rando didn;t shoot enough i cant believe you just said they have no true point guard that makes no sense and i want to accuse you of never watching one celtic game the whole year WOW

Derek Fisher looks like he should be draped in leather and chains and singing with the village people....or hanging out at the blue oyster with Pau Gasol and his european pocketbook.
