The Pacers are 8-1 SU & ATS at home following a loss since February 28th, including 3-1 SU & ATS in the playoffs. The only loss occurred in Game 3, another game in this series they gave away. Will they be able to shake that off and compete hard tonight while facing elimination? I'm not sure, but I'm not about to lay those points with Boston.
I'm not big on "what the league needs" scenarios, but obviously the league needs the Pacers to win tonight in order to shorten the amount of time we'll all be waiting for the Finals to get underway on Thursday, June 6th. Coach Mazzulla rode his starters hard on Saturday night in pursuit of the successful comeback. Tatum, Horford, Brown, Holiday, and White averaged 38 minutes. With this 3-0 series lead, there is no need to push that hard for another win tonight. And just sayin'....who within the Celtics organization would mind hosting a Game 5 Garden party on Wednesday night where the team can enjoy clinching a series on their home court for the third time in these playoffs? Would Celtics fans mind much if a fun Game 5 was the "consequence" for losing Game 4? Doesn't sound like a bad deal for the Celtics who are in complete command of their pursuit of a spot in the Finals.
If the Celtics finish off Indiana tonight, they'll have a 9-day wait until they host the Mavericks in Game 1. We know a 9-day layoff ain't a good thing. A loss tonight and a win on Wednesday night shortens that wait to a week. Still a long wait, but better than a seriously rust-inducing NINE freakin' days.
In short, the Pacers are motivated tonight to avoid the embarrassment of going winless in their first conference finals appearance since 1995. They'd also very much like to win their (presumably) final home game rather than lose it. The Celtics are motivated tonight by what? The thrill of victory, I guess. Gaining bragging rights for sweeping the Pacers seems like something these players wouldn't care about, as this matchup is not a rivalry. Bottom line, the Celtics are light on reasons for needing and wanting this Game 4 win.
Okay, I've successfully talked myself into not only taking the 7.5, but pursuing the best Pacers moneyline price as well.

Maybe the Celtics aren't too happy to see my guy ZZ on the whistle here. This season in playoffs ZZ has been crew chief in games where ultimate series loser grabbed a rare win (Bucks/76ers/Lakers/OKC). Last season Zarba was on games where teams staved off elimination for a day by winning SU (Phx x 2/Warriors/Heat).
2 seasons ago when Celtics made their run to the Finals, Boston was 0-6 ATS and 1-5 SU with Zarba on the whistle. Their lone win was a 115-114 squeaker at home hosting the Nets. They avg'd 101.5pts in those 6 games and lost by an avg of 9ppg. With Referee Capers, Pacers are 3-0 SU these playoffs w/ avg margin of victory 13ppg.

Let's hope Zarba stays true to his MO. The Pacers could use a little love from the third team on the floor for once, they're getting crushed in FT attempts 40 to 76. Come on now
