Both teams were humiliated against their opponents the last time out and both teams are more than capable of winning tonight despite being on a back to back (I think a week off for the all star break mitigates for this). Sometimes in the NBA, that extra edge, motivation is all you need. I trust the Clippers less, for what it’s worth, but I will double down and chase with them if they lose tonight because they play Dallas again in a couple of days on national TV and should get their revenge then if they fail tonight. The Warriors I feel more confident about because they have been looking for this game for over a week now and last night against the Jazz was just the tune up. Oh, and the Warriors have dropped their last 3 nationally televised games getting humiliated in two of them: against both LA teams. Meanwhile, the Lakers are still a bit shorthanded and look jaded to me.
Clippers -1.5
Warriors +2.5
Good Luck

Warriors showed up last night I'm not sure they care for this game. Sorta like how Clippers chose this game and didn't show up last night. It doesn't mean anything to beat the Lakers without AD playing so why put the effort in? It'll be a different team in the playoffs.

Lakers aren't a bit shorthanded. I'm not sure if you watch NBA but AD is 40% of that team. He's not a 'bit' of it no offense. That's Anthony Davis. They sold out a whole team for him. I'm not trying to predict this game it may sound like I'm contradicting myself, I don't know who wins it. Just pointing a few things out. I've seen teams lay down to the Lakers though when they don't have AD in because it's meaningless unless your team needs that win on their record for positioning in playoffs.

One thing I do remember, AD came here for championship rings and he gets pissed off when he's not playing and the team starts losing. He's a serious player. If they do continue losing games he'll be ready to get them going when he returns I'll be watching that.
And look back at the box score of the last matchup. Curry played 26 minutes, Draymond played 13 I think he got injured or ejected. Wiggins 22 minutes Oubre 26 minutes. They sat all their starters.
Is it because Draymond got injured early? Or is it because they cared not for competing against Lakers minutes AD so they gave their young guys run? Maybe someone who watched the game can give more input.
Looking at the other side... Lebron also played 25 minutes that game. It's like they had a mutual exhibition who knows.

Also apparently Currys 33rd birthday was last night so who knows how much celebration occurred after the Jazz victory. Sorry for spamming your thread anyhow, this game is just interesting me.
Another thing, Warriors just knocked the Jazz back 1 game in the standings so if the Lakers are wanting that #1 seed which their 3 games behind on to the Jazz, showing up tonight against a B2B Warriors team that put up 140 points last night and then celebrated Currys Bday, might be a good spot to bring it to a 2 game deficit.

They are the NBA champs, they have LBJ, he has history against the Warriors. The Warriors care. Did the Suns not show up against LA because AD wasn’t playing?

Suns aren't a legit team. They don't have the mindset of "we'll meet you in the playoffs", because somehow they'll fuck it up and possibly not even make it in or past round 1. Warriors been their done that mentality for the Suns it's a dream. A team like them isn't going to willingly slow down ever.

that's weird. That's what I mean it's like these teams are buddies and they'll get serious when it's time. Idk it's weird enough to keep me from betting on these matchups but if anything, yeah I'd follow the trend of coverings.

That Clippers line smells to me. The Clips eliminated the Mavs round 1 in playoffs in a really heated and dirty series where Morris targeted Luka and tried to hurt him twice, it was nasty. So the Mavs paid them back big time when they met very early this season and Mavs were up an astounding 50pts at half in LA 77-27, going on to win 124-73. It seems too easy to play the Clipper revenge angle here, I haven't seen one poster on Mavs but at least 10+ on Clips and you know how that usually ends. Morris and Leonard didn't play in that game now they are, if anything I'd think Mavs would want to beat them again at fuller strength. LA teams don't seem to care about motivation nor revenge like other mid-level teams do, maybe it's the sunshine and celebrity status. Can you imagine how much money would be on Clips Wed in the ESPN game if they lose tonight, a Mavs sweep would clean folks out. If anything I like the over. GL BB.

I hear you. No doubt the books will clean house if the Dallas sweeps. Frankly, I can't believe I'm betting the Clippers again (after thousands down the toilet over the years) but this is an angle I can't pass up. 77-27 was historically humiliating. Next to cutting these guys' balls off, that's as bad as it gets on the court for an NBA player.

im thinking the same..so hard to get a read/gauge on them, look like they have it all figured out one night and are seeming like top contendors/world-beaters and then just get the doors blown off them the next game...of course that is the nba in a nutshell to some extent, but a team with this much solid talent shouldnt have so much variance in the manner in which they win/lose.
so many very, very solid guys in this forum on the clippers..but it might just be the day to go contrarian..kind of think that even with the revenge angle accounted for this may mean more to the mavs...after the spiteful playoff loss and the terrible start to this season.they need all the wins they can muster to right the ship.
as for the other dude in this thread saying its meaningless for the warriors to beat lakers sans AD,i dont think ANY GAME that a steph curry team plays against a lebron team will ever be meaningless till the day one/both retires..theres always something there after the history formed between the 2 and i bet it stings just a ittle bit more than any ordinary game for each of them to lose to the other.

The Warriors WORKED yesterday and had to travel. They should be somewhat gassed against a fully rested team. The only reason why this line is 2.5 is because of yesterday´s result. Curry played 36 mins, Draymond 36 and Wiggins 38. If the Lakers bench is horrible, the Warriors bench is beyond horrible and it seems to be a game where they will need the bench.
Regarding the Clippers, the game was doomed early. But still they have to travel as well. Watch out for the late time scratch of Leonard. Additionally, I feel everyone underestimates Pat Bev. He is a key player to this team. Especially when your opponent´s key player is the PG.

Warriors were home. No travel. And it was an early game. Warriors bench is also suddenly looking formidable (or at least serviceable ) when compared to the Lakers, who will be without Caruso, no not the Opera singer:) The line was 2.5 before yesterday’s game! And has nothing to do with the result. It was offered at my book at the same number before tip off of yesterday’s game. The Clippers played better defense against the Warriors without Beverly! As long as they show up, which they didn’t yesterday, they should be fine.
