One factor you are missing is the refs and home record for portland...

I would take portland in this spot....

Portland at home is serious. If Lamarcus Aldridge decides to go off for 34-40pts tonight it is gonna be a mad close spread. I have Dallas +5.5 too but I am remembering how the blazers have killed me in the past when they are at home and Lamarcus Aldridge morphing into a hybrid mini Olajuwon with a perfect jumper.

Glad to see we're on the same side with the Mavs!

I truly believe that the Mavs need this 3-0 lead over any other team up 2-0.  This will come down to the final possessions and I really think Mavs take it SU..  Ill take the 6 points all day everyday.

For those that read my NBA Playoff Guide, you'll notice that I like to look at 'Relative Strength' of each team.  Well, Dallas is +4.  Portland is +2.1  Effectively, Dallas is about 2 points better than Portland under normal conditions.  Even if you account for home-court based on this, Portland should be -1 favorites in this one.  So you're telling me that bookies added 5 points for the 'revenge'/'must-win'/'zig-zag' angle in this one???  

Way too many points....Unless I'm missing something, this is an automatic bet on Dallas...Way too much value.

Bodio - I checked your other writeup was wondering how this teaser looked to you?

Indiana +12 (should be able to keep it within 10 at home I think)
Dallas +13 1/2
Miami +3  - so far I'm least confident in Indiana and the Heat was thinking of substituting

Chi/Indi Over 181 and/or Miami/Philly Under 194

Thoughts?  Thanks

In the game they lost by 8, Chandler didn't play and Kidd/Terry combined to go 1 for 12 from the field. Also remember that Dallas were playing their 4th game in 5 nights, and LAST game of a 6-game road-trip.  Huge 'let-down' spot and they only lost by 8...

In the game Portland lost by 5, Gerald Wallace wasn't on the team and Caron Butler of the Mavs scored 23 points.  Also remember that Portland was playing their 4th game in 6 nights, and LAST game of a 4-game road-trip.  'Let-down' spot and they only lost by 5.

This did not stop Dallas from covering both home games.  Anyway, my point is only that there are arguments for both sides.  Typically, I would take Dallas at +5.5 or more but it is a no play for me tonight.
