I believe Pippen said he had the potential to be better than Jordan and can do things on the court Jordan couldn't. Obviously he isn't better than Jordan now. Its just projecting a players potential and its done all the time if they don't live up to what there capable of doesn't mean it was wrong too say that they could have been great.

I do like how its fun to dismiss what Pippen said, even though he played along side of Jordan his entire career and  might have some insight on things.  But he's annoying and doesn't tip the service industry, so fuck him

100% true.  MJ would kick his mom in the teeth to win, much like Kobe.  Wade has waaaaaaay more of that mentality than LeBron.  He won that title in 2006 by himself (despite Antoine Walker being on the same team as him).  Shaq was on the team, sure - but he just existed out there on the court (I wanna say something like 12-13 points a game in the finals).  Wade's will was the only reason that team got a ring.  LeBron doesn't have a shred of that - which is a damn shame, given his athleticism.  It is slightly disgusting to watch him waste it.

Pippen never impressed me as a player - Jordan made him look better than he was -which became very evident when Jordan left - I still can't understand how James just wilted away in the finals - the last 2 years have dropped James stature to not even be worthy of the initial question.

MJ is the best ever who played in the NBA, it is no question for me. Leadership, elegance, style, d-fence, ring(s). I'll never forget those games where MJ scored at least 45 points, almost every bucket was a miracle, an unforgetable shot, enjoy watching while he was playing. I was always waiting something extra when he was on the court, may be just a fake (nobody ever fakes better than MJ), or a spectacular assist, he always surprised the enemy, and not when it was dd lead.  MJ was humble, while LBJ is not humble at all. 
James has to learn more...first figure out how to win a champ ring!

Think about this, if Jordan was in his prime playing against Lebron right now, he would make Lebron look like another Charles Barkley or Karl Malone, or Patrick Ewing, or Clyde Drexler.  He would crush Lebron and that's a fact.

LBJ needs to learn how to hit a jump shot and not just put his head down and drive to the hole.  Same with D Rose.  I think at least Rose is practicing.... LBJ does not get better or even try to get better.

WTBS  neither are even near Jordan status, not even in the discussion.

I think Scottie may have a little animosity towards Jordan to even broach the subject.  Phil Jackson felt more comfortable letting Toni Kukoc take the big shot in the playoffs not Pippen.  So maybe the question should be is Scottie Pippen better than Toni Kukoc.  They did about the same when neither was on Jordan's team.

Not disputing that fact at all -- Wade doesn't have a chance to take over the finals if Shaq isn't on that team.  What I'm saying is that Shaq doesn't win a ring that year if Wade doesn't take over that Finals Series.  Wade didn't want to lose and when they got in a hole, especially in Game 3, he decided that he was not going to lose.  It's used too much in sports, but Wade literally willed that team to a title.  Jordan had that drive, that competitiveness, that refusal to lose in every single game of the year.  LeBron doesn't even have it in the playoffs - whether his team is winning or losing the series or even that particular game.

are you serious he only played 59 games that year 20.0 ppg and 9.9 reb and that was the year when his minutes dropped significantly to 30.6 mins

he wasnt even in the top 10 for nba voting that year

yes shaq was crucial to miami winning it all that year but as the no2 man (shaqs last great year was 04-05 i think)

This is all I'll say about this. When Lebron develops a legitimate jump shot and has at least 3 rings, then we'll talk. Until then LBJ cock gobblers really need to STFU.

Add to this, Miami was out-scored by Dallas with Shaq on the floor but out-scored and out-played Dallas with Alonzo Mourning on the court, it was Wade who delivered that title to Miami.
