Noticing lots of love for LA on Covers for two main reasons...1)It is not expected Ray will have the same game and 2) Kobe will not be in foul trouble.
1) It's true, Ray will not likely break the all time three point record in Finals history or even tie it. It's not often a record breaking performance is broken let alone duplicated and I don't expect it tonight. But who says Boston needs such a performace to prevail. If that's the case, why not just fade Boston throughout this series because not only don't I expect it tonight but for the rest of the series. What people fail to mention is in this same game, KG and Pierce made 2 shots apiece. I know KG has been struggling and Pierce has been locked down by Artest, but I can assure you that there will be more than 4 shots between the two and this will make up for any drop off Ray may have. However, I still think Ray has a big game especially if Fisher continues to guard him.
2) I also don't expect Kobe to be sitting on the bench for long strectches as in game 2, but Kobe isn't going to win this game on his own. What's that crazy stat when Kobe scores over 25 or something? If the Lakers are going to win it's going to be a team effort as in game 1 when all were clicking except for Odom....and who knows if that guy will ever show.
Also, too much talk about how Boston is no good at home...they were 31-19 and all though that's not great it sure isn't bad. ATS they were an abysmal 17-27 ATS as a favorite, but keep in mind the avg line for these home games was -8! Boston pretty much just has to win tonight. And this is possible given that LA is 2-10 SU when they are a road dog of 3 or less and 4-8 ATS.
There is also talk that Boston is old and that only one day of rest will be an advantage for LA, however, Boston does have the better record ATS off 1 day rest.
I'm going to take my chances with the home team tonight in what will be an electric crowd....something Garnett feeds off.
