    Wait wait wait. I have followed the raptors all year. In a pressure situation like this, sorry to say the nerves will get the best of them. You are talking deron Williams, Paul pierce, Kevin Garnett and Shawn Livingston vs Lowry,derozan and who? This is a total mismatch because the nets are not going to be embarrassed by a Toronto squad that had some confidence before being tossed around in jersey. I am a raptors fan but I am not playing with my heart here. This game will come down to call unfortunately and pp and kg are notorious for getting them. Let's be real. Kg and pp final year to give it all they got, will they be a force next year? I really don't think so they are aged veterans that can still play. Yes raptors are young and fast but also stupid with the pressure on. +3 is a dream today and I am gonna unload like a madman. I believe the x factor for nets will be Shawn Livingston and d will will do his thing. Lowry will get upset and dr. Rozan will do his thing like usual. They just don't have the intestinal fortitude to push Brooklyn around. The home crowd will be silent when Brooklyn shuts em down early. Take out the crowd will be a strategy for sure. These teams may match up fairly well but the veteran play will be their ultimate fate.

    Good article scalabrine but my heart says raps but my betting gut says Brooklyn +3

    Best of luck to everybody

    Love your write ups....After the calls that were totally blown for the Hawks the refs worry me bad. Granted the Hawks shot way too many threes. When they did go to the basket they GOT NO CALLS it was a disgrace and extremely obvious. I think the raps win but I'm gonna tease it with the Spurs game. I just don't trust this league's refs one bit. If I were to tease it Scal...what would be your recommendation if you font mind giving me one. Thank you in advance bro and whether you give me a recommendation or not u greatly appreciate your picks

    Well said Mart Dawg.  You make a very valid point regarding the pressure getting to the Raptors which, from what I've seen has them playing extremely carelessly at times.  They tend do panic and get rattled very quickly if things start turning.

    That's probably the biggest factor on whether the Raptors win this game or not in my opinion.  Can they overcome that is the big question!

    Here are the ref stats for home teams ATS with a spread of 0-4.5 -- definitely favors the NETS

    Bill Spooner -- 1-9
    Tony Brown -- 4-10
    Derrick Stafford -- 4-3
    Joey Crawford -- 5-13

    KG is done cant see how he will be any difference.  PP can still score but he looks very old a lot of the time it seems.  I do agree that Livingston could be a big X factor today he is an excellent defender and really doesn't try to do to much.  IMO the player that Raps need to stop is Johnson, if he can get in the paint and take the FT in shots they are dead but force him to keep taking long jumpers and they have a good chance.

    I also agree that this has a great chance to come down to a kife call or calls in Nets favor.  BOL

    Scal, I was leaning nets as I think Raptors are too inexperienced to win a game 7. However this team never shows quit. So I am gonna pass on this game. but as a raptors fan, I am happy you have picked them. Good luck today

    Good news.

    Here comes the squares hitting up the Nets morning line (not that the squares are always wrong).

    The line is now 2.5 in a lot of places and on Bovada. Buy the hook in the Raps and save the juice on the full point.

    I'm even going to add some of the ML which is now a very palatable -130/-135 and not have to worry about any points.

    I'll be back to answer some of the above.

    Scal, yes, it is at 2.5 at bovada but it still isn't letting me buy the hook. It seems really borderline at this point, I'm going to wait right til tip off to bet. But if it doesn't drop to 2, is it honestly more worth it to put my whole bet on ML, or maybe half of it on ML and half on 2.5? Thoughts?

    Guys if you can get the ML price at -135 like I am on Bovada. You may as well take it over buying a full point where you are charged a lot more for each half a point and are still paying a number.

    Even at -140, if you are paying -130 for 1 point to 2 (because you are getting it at -3 at the moment), leave it on the table and pay the extra juice to -140 to take off the last 2. I see this game as being quite close right to the end.

    I'm not trying to juice the hell out of you but it's just a matter of how much you are getting charged for the full point in comparison to taking off a full 3 points in a very close game.

    That's just a recommendation, bet as you will. But it has gone to 2.5 in many places, will likely go to that number everywhere so the hook can be bought and bring the juice to a very reasonable -120.

    The Beethoven of basketball write-ups has blessed us again.

    Thank you for all the units you have made me since bet # 2. (bet one was Portland but you had  them pegged spot on!)

    We shall get the units today unless the refs ^%#& us.

    On a side note the team that has had the lead at half time has gone on to win 9 out of the last 10 in this series.

     Good Luck to us.

    Good luck, Scal. I have nets for the series so im just riding it out, hoping they pull it off somehow, but fatigue is my biggest concern here.

    Wait Wait Wait (is there an echo in here?)

    I've got to pick this post apart because several things are inaccurate.

    First up:

    1) Shaun Livingston - Wouldn't you want an X-factor to be a guy who gets minutes? Livingston will play. The problem is that he just lost his starting job to Allen Anderson and Anderson contributed 9pts and 9Rebs and I'd be floored if Kidd starts Livingston over Anderson today.

    So you are trying to sell an "X-Factor" who was essentially just jettisoned to the bench. While he can and will score, the "X-factor" label is too much given he just fell out of favor with Kidd in a must win Game 6.

    2) Nerves -

    Where were the nerves in Game 5 when they took an 18 point lead at the half in the game I believe will determine the winner of this series. All on their home court like they are here.

    YES, they gave up a 24 point lead but what people don't realize is Lowry was incredibly clutch at the end of the game and the Raptors WON the game (and in some ways, some here treat it as a half-loss of sorts because of the comeback).

    And the final score was not indicative of how the Raptors stifled that comeback.

    If not for an Allen Anderson heave and 4 point play, that game could have ended up at a 7 or 8 pt margin of victory instead of 2 points and would be held is less favor than it is now (much like Game 3 where the Raptors cut a 15 point lead to 1 only to lose by 4.

    I didn't see a nervous team in a MUST WIN in Game 2 either so they are young, but this serious has made them wear their big boy pants.

    3) "This is a total mismatch"

    No it's not. As a matter of fact it's precisely the opposite. On paper, these teams are very close in terms of points scored, three pointers made, FT attempts, fouls and on and on and on.

    4)You are talking deron Williams, Paul pierce, Kevin Garnett and Shawn Livingston vs Lowry,derozan and who?

    How can you call them "Who?"

    You follow this team and you call them "Who?"

    You do know the "Who" is mad up of a backcourt in Demar and Kyle that anyone would take over Deron and Shaun or Deron and Allen Anderson every single day of the week right?

    And that "Who" is also made up of Valancinas. He outplayed KG/Plumlee AND Blatche in the first two games of this series COMBINED (go look it up and verify for yourself!).

    Greivis Vasquez has been a godsend making crucial contributions in late game minutes.

    So that Who is quite laudable.

    5) The myth of KG and PP

    Look at benhogan's post above and his first two sentences. He knows "The Truth" (Pun intended).

    The guys can chip in in big spots but I want to remind you of something.

    The Celtics were given NO CHANCE of beating the Knicks last year in a team lead by these two. Why? They were well past their prime. They will have big buckets and rebounds but to think you are getting 35/40 from this pair like the days of of is ridiculous.

    6) The home crowd will be silent when BKN shuts them down

    This is the best home crowd in the NBA maybe next to Golden State.

    First, BKN needs to 'shut them down' and second if that doesn't happen they will be a force for the Raptors if they have the lead.

    ALL the pressure is on the Nets here. ALL of it. The Raps are playing with HOUSE MONEY in, and this is the key, THEIR HOUSE.

    I hope response put this post in perspective.

    One last thing because I'm out of time:

    HOME TEAM IS 91-23 (80%) in GAME 7's ALL TIME. Won't determine the game but it certainly matters.

    Can't respond to all of the above at the moment (sorry bout that all, and BB) but there you have it.

    Win or lose today (and even your next games) you've had a great season and enjoy the write-ups regardless of what side Im on. Shows that thought process and discipline can still win money

    @Doc
    @Moe - I'm not. I just don't think it will be corrupt enough today.
    @tiy-
    @ Buzz - If I had a gun to my head, I would tease the Spurs down yes as I think they take it today by >3.

    @Canada - Well they are at home and that is a HUGE help imo.

    @ bob - taking a game at -2 basically takes this into push territory so ATS numbers don't bother me, regardless of refs.

    @Full - always a pleasure,.

    @Ben - They have stopped JJ compared to the games in the beginning of this series so that's a good sign in terms of adjustments.

    @Killer - I hope the Raps bring this home for you. Your fanbase is absolutely tremendous.

    @venez

    @Figgy - You can't buy the hook on the mobile app. You have to log into the site on your PC and use the non-mobile site. There you can buy the hook. I promise you that. I just did.

    @unit - Always a pleasure man. You once said "This is capping at its finest!!" for one of my threads I got a huge kick out of that.

    @love - Good luck! There is an argument to be made for them.

    @BB - I know, I know. And if this doesn't hit you do so there is a nice consolation prize for me with that.

    @pro - In game 7, they all have 7 games under their belt. That's a lot of games in 2014. Maybe game 1 it is about experience, but this one is a hard sell for that. And I'll trade experience for home court, which I have, any day of the week.

    @small - Appreciate that!

    @Carp - Thanks a lot man!
