Kings at Pacers
Interesting clash of styles here. Kings have been scoring a lot recently...Pacers want to play hardcore D and slow it down. Kings have played really good as of late, but that was all home games against lesser opponents.
Kings have been scoring a ton lately, and if you look at the numbers the last 3 games they've been holding teams to 40% shooting. Question is, is that bad offense or good defense. Well, IMO it's been a little of both. However, I do like the interior D that Cousins brings to the table. He leads the team in scoring, rebounding, steals and blocks. That's a legit threat. He probably tops the list of my most underrated player of the year. If he got with a coach like Popovich, Carlisle, Thibs, or Vogel...he'd be one of the best players on a championship contender. This team is the definition of inconsistent. They've beat the Rockets, and Blazers...lost to the 76ers and Bobcats. Tough team to figure out, but I like some of the pieces. Individually they have lots of talent, they just aren't one cohesive unit.
Pacers have struggled on offense, and even though they beat up the Wizards the last time out, they only scored 93 points. Lance should be good to go, and the Pacers are coming off a break they desperately needed. Both teams are rested so we should see no fatigue as a factor.
Classic battle of an under team vs. an over team, and I love reading the posts of other people in a situation like this. Half the people are positive one team pulls the game over...half the people are positive the other team pulls the game under. Of course half will be right, and they will congratulate themselves cause, of course, it was obvious. Anyway, I'm staying away from the total. Pacers still have trouble getting started, and the Kings are a team that can get momentum if you let them hang around. I like the matchups of Cousins on the inside, and Rudy on Paul George. Should be good battles, and don't underestimate Jason Thompson's rebounding. Last game against Cleveland he and Demarcus combined for 27 boards. When the Pacers play a team that can match them in rebounding, they struggle.
Best value I think on the board right now is Kings +6 1h. I don't know if the Kings can win this game, but I think they can keep it close, especially early where the Pacers have struggled.
Of course it goes without saying (but we'll say it anyway)...OH system still going strong, and we'll stick with it. 1h under 97.5.
Interesting stats if you're an over under player. Look at the amount of shots the Kings have been taking recently. With the exception of one game, they've been under 85 shots a game. They aren't taking more shots than everyone, they've just been making more and shooting 50%. If you're going to wager on game totals, looking at shots taken is very much overlooked.
GL tonight everyone
