After the Rockets lost to the Spurs the other day, they realized that they didn't bring playoff intensity to the game; that they were only playing with regular season intensity while the Spurs were playing with playoff intensity. Maybe this is just a story the Rockets are telling themselves to make themselves feel better and, more importantly, give them hope for the next game. The thinking is, if they can just raise their intensity, they'll be fine. Forget about the fact that the Spurs bench is probably good enough to hang with the Rockets starters, or that the Rockets are a one dimensional team (and a banged up one at that) that relies on long jump shots and isolation basketball. And yet, despite all of this, there is some truth to what the Rockets say. Playoff intensity is way different than regular season intensity.
Tomorrow we will see the Grizz bring that kind of intensity into Utah, against the young Jazz, just as they did the other night against NO. This is a very important game for the Grizz, if they want to maintain home court advantage, something they worked all season for. After this game they face the Clippers and GS, if they can beat the Jazz and split the next two, they have a chance at keeping home court. Otherwise, their prospects look bleak. The Jazz are a fine young team and have had a great run at home, but are they ready for playoff type basketball, against an angry Grizz team looking for revenge and home court advantage?
Meanwhile, the Rockets are sure to play a better game at home, but having come this far, I just don't see SA being denied. They are one game away from an improbable run that could get them the 2nd seed. Add to that the fact that they've finally (after 7 games, dating back to last year) figured out the Rockets and I like their chances here. Unless the Rockets get 40 from Harden and dominate at the foul line (certainly possible but not likely) I don't see them winning. The refs should realize what's good for the league here, a WCF with GS vs SA, awaiting the Cavs?

To very good games. The Grizz/Jazz might end up 78-70 or something ridiculous as we all know these teams like to eat up the clock and defend. Should be a good old fashioned low scoring brutal game. Going to be good to see how Gobert goes up against Randolph and Gasol in this match.
As for the other game, I do like my boys in this spot but cant fade the Spurs because they are rolling right now. Will sit back and watch that game for sure.

Jazz stacks up well with the Grizz. And this is the Jazz's playoffs right now. They have one of the best records in the league since the all star break and defense is top notch, especially at home. i can see this team being super stubborn tomorrow. I'm not takign anything away from a blowout win over the Pels..... pels were in a horrible let down spot after they spilled their guts beating the Warriors the night before.....
Rockets are a joke.
Teams that are total pretenders and jokes but act like they are something special..... ROCKETS, CLIPPERS, PORTLAND. Can fade them.
Personally want to see Rockets play Dallas in the playoffs. Dallas looks like a bunch of pathetic scrubs. Dallas will abuse the Rockets in a 7 games series.
Dallas sucks so much that they were the last team to even put a dent in the spurs armor last season. And ironically.... that last team to completely embarrass (not just beat, but embarrass) the spurs was.... ding ding, Dallas. When you get HOFs and guys that won rings on your crew that'll go a long way in the playoffs over some chucking team..... and i'm not even close to being totally sold on Golden State by any means.

Hard to bet against the Spurs. Houston swept them last year in regular season... i think the Spurs have made mental note of that so they will want to finish strong against their rivals to make the series 3-1 and knock them down a notch to get that 2nd seed. might just tail you on the Spurs play cause i was on the fence.
Sip on that plus money honey!

Jazz are in 11th place in the West, they're not going to the playoffs lol
I don't know what the hell is the wrong with the Mavs this year. definitely under performing. we they be a different team come playoff time? League Capper thinks pretty highly of the coach, maybe they turn it up in the playoffs?

Dallas is dead last in turn over margin. That's worse than the knicks and sixers for reference. Parsons is out friday, the injuries have been bothersome for Dallas. They have had too many moving pieces all year, added Rajon Rondo(mistake) and IMO do not show any motivation. People keep saying that Dallas is a dangerous "playoff" team. I disagree. If they do somehow show us "playoff intensity" once the playoffs begin, then Dallas is playing the greatest game of possum w/ their "regular season intensity" I've ever seen.
Good write up BB.

holy crap, just saw that Conley is questionable after locking up Griz at -2.5
anyone else worried or is it no Conley no problem?
Now we know why Vegas set the line so low! If he plays, it will go up to 4 (imo). If he doesn't play, it might go to -2. I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure you'll have time to hedge out, if you want.

Typical response.
Playoffs and a regular season are two different things. Dallas knows to bounce back. Pretty evident by the fact they play in by far the best division in basketball and have a very very solid record.

Gene, Dallas sucks. They might get lucky in the 1st round, but that's about it. No team with Richard Jefferson is going anywhere. And regular season does matter. Teams that turn it on and off are not reliable come playoff time. You need to be like a machine. You need to be consistent and know how to close. Dallas is showing us none of these traits.

When have they ever showed you that? lol. They are chameleon team. They didn't show you any of that crap last year iether, everyone expected a dallas burial by san antonio and they pushed them to 7. Dallas wins any type of game thats why they fly under the radar. We cna even go back to 2010.... everyone expected Dallas burial at the hands of Lebron and the Miami heat.... they get raped the first game and and 2nd game and then it was all downhill for Miami afterward. This is what Dallas does.... they win cluttered up shiitty games 89-85 or they throw up 135 in a shoot out.
Houston balled last year and got stomped out by another scrub team in Portland. People need to stop and consider how these teams have spefic playing styles and horrible in game tendencies. That shiit doen'st correct itself magically in the playoffs. Houston is nothing more than hi tempo jump chucking team. I've seen Harden got shut down and throw up bricks and this team gets raped. Same for Portland and Clippers. Everything looks nice in the regular season when teams are coming in with varying schedules, road trips, travel difficulties etc. All that shiit changes in the playoffs. If Dallas sucked they wouldn't be a couple of games back for the division and be 16 games above .500 in what is "suppose" a much stronger conference. garbage.... the whole feckin southeastern conference is in the playoffs right now. I love the fact they are getting overlooked. That team has post season experience it showed last year when they barely snuck into the playoffs.
Portland and houston are so feckin horrible that the upper elite teams just keep raping them every game. Portland literally has no answer for Memphis, same outcome every time. Clipper are another joke..... when they can get past 6 games in the 2nd round I might take them seriously. High flying dunks and fancy dribble is all nice a regular season game.... otherwise meaningless in the playoffs. Proof is in the pudding.... these teams have done shiit every year. Doc has to be one of the most overated feckin coaches ever..... its nice when you have Rondo, Ray Allen, PP34 and garnett on a insanely stacked all time in Boston. Now you have a bunch of chucks and who act like they've won 3 rings and going to the HOF. His results are not different than Vinny Delnegro's....
I've said it before... I'll take a team like Brooklyn who is percieved to be a garbage team by most people (like 90% of people on this dopey forum) and maybe (maybe*) Toronto/Wizards over Clipps houston portland in a 7 game series. Rosters, match ups and playing styles are built for the playoffs and they would be very competitive in the playoffs IMO.
Memphis, SAS, and GSW are for real. Dallas is a sleeper because they are unpredictable. Golden State though, might be in a for a little surprise in the playoffs but I believe Kerr knows their weaknesses and they have enough talent and an insanely stacked roster to adjust their half court sets and strategies. That playing style they have now will not cut it against San Antonio and Memphis in the playoffs IMO.

Pelicans (revenge game + they are home + they are fighting for every win + PHX is horrible right now)
Indian - they are riding a huge emotional boost right now with having their boy PG13 back. They are actually looking more like the dominant Indy team in the 1st half last season.... plus I think Detroit packed it in already.... Divvy game for Indy + playoff motivation I think they may have enough.
Thats about it..... will look into further to make sure.
OKC over on initial glance.... they have zero game flow right now. Scott brooks might be the worst coach in teh league.... Westbrook is a complete animal the over is alive in every game even if they score 10 points in the 1st quarter because they throw up shots 3 seconds into the shot clock lol. If they catch any sort of rythm their games will go over.... theyre putting up like 90-95 shots a game lol.

Anywauy aside from that....
Games i'm eyeing....
Spurs
Atlanta (dont care who they rest tomorrow)
Brooklyn (waiting for spread)
Toronto (might be a play on the over as well)
