Supreme Court's ruling lets one get any winnings easier..
but now there will be the paying of taxes
and most likely there'll be higher vigorish.
One tough guy - for real, mentally & physically:
Nobody has ever called a baseball game better
- put the listener in the park w/ stats/strategies,
and if you weren't a shmuck & knew your place
you never got a better friend, loyal & consistent!
The Man upstairs got Mr. Edward Farmer home

Kenny “The Hawk” Harrelson remembers Farmer as not only a voice of the Sox for nearly 30 years
but also as an outstanding pitcher when came into the big leagues with the Cleveland Indians.
“He was a thoroughbred, I’ll tell you that. I’ve known him since he was 18 years old.
Didn’t take long, maybe a couple of appearances, and you knew you had something going there
because he was tough.
A great competitor. All the guys just loved him. He was one of those guys that you could tie,
but you couldn’t beat as a person. He was just a wonderful person. Unique.
Pissed a lot of people off, but he didn’t care. He was not afraid of anything.
He was not afraid of anybody or anything or any situation.”
He loved his job. Even in bad health and he’d been in bad health for awhile now, he would
just tough it out.
A lot of guys – they’d be in the ICU with what he was going through, but he never complained
one time. Not one time in all the years that he’s been going thru this."
Ed was a native of Evergreen Park, IL, and a graduate of St. Rita High on the South Side.
Ed was an All-Star for the White Sox in 1980, when he saved 30 games — then a club record.

Ed Farmer + Darrin Jackson
Darrin Jay Jackson joined Ed on broadcasts.
D.J. also played for the Chicago White Sox.
The start was D.J. getting verbally/logically
beaten up pretty bad by Ed, but took it and
stayed silent & ccol. Eventually DJ started
fighting back with witty comebacks backed
by situational stats of the present and past.
Ed struck back at that, letting it end a Draw.
DJ had to prove he was "Steady Eddie guy."
Then it just clicked like 2 professionals who
love their area of endeavor & their audience.
The Ed+DJ team got to "MLB's Miami Vice"
DJ's tough, but this loss of Ed gots to be tuff.
